Level 1: awaken mind

You can telepathically speak to any creature you can see within 30 feet of you. You don't need to share a language, but the creature must understand at least one.

flavor tip: you're not speaking to them -- you're bypassing dialogue entirely. "just cut to the interaction."

meta awareness

once per short or long rest, when you or an ally within 30 Feet fails an attack, saving throw, or ability check, you can force a reroll. the creature must use the new result.

you can use this ability after seeing the roll, but before the outcome is declared.

add some flavor when doing this your choice

red string theory

-You can cast Detect Thoughts and Detect Magic without expending a spell slot, a number of times equal to your Charisma modifer per long rest.

-You can cast divination once per long rest without material components, flavored as "consulting the meta."

additionally, once per long rest, you may ask the DM: "who's really behind this?" they must give you a symbolic, metaphorical, or dreamlike vision hinting at the true antagonist or hidden force in play.

break the fourth wall

Once per long rest as a bonus action, you activate a state of meta-awareness for 1 minute:

- You are immune to being charmed or frightened.

- You have an advantage on all saving throws.

- You can use your reaction to give yourself or an ally within 30 feet advantage on any d20 roll.

- You gain truesight out to 30 feet.

unscripted insight

• You gain proficiency in insight and investigation. If you already have proficiency, double your proficiency bonus
• once per long rest. You can ask your DM, Is this part of the plot?" The DM must answer truthfully, cryptically, if something in the scene is directly tied to the campaign's major arc
