Level 3: The Archives

Starting at 3rd level, you gain access to the Archives, an extraplanar library that manifests in your dreams. This mystical repository of knowledge grants you the following benefits:

  • Initial Access: At 3rd level, choose two spells from the arcane or primal spell list of 2nd level or lower. Add these spells to your spellbook for free.

  • Expanding Knowledge: Whenever you gain a level in the Wizard class, you can add one additional leveled arcane or primal spell to your spellbook for free.

  • Spell Level Limits: The maximum spell level for these added spells is determined by your Wizard level:

    • Levels 3–4: 2nd level or lower.
    • Levels 5–8: 3rd level or lower.
    • Levels 9–12: 4th level or lower.
    • Levels 13–16: 5th level or lower.
    • Levels 17–20: 6th level or lower.

Level 3: Arcane Fragmentation

Also at 3rd level, you wield the remnants of lost knowledge from a destabilized reality. You gain access to two abilities which may both be activated as a reaction on a target you can see:

  • Insightful Echo: When a creature within 30 feet of you fails an attack roll, they may reroll the attack and must use the new outcome.

  • Echoing Whispers: When a creature within 30 feet of you would succeeds on a saving throw, you force it to reroll, using the new result.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your prof mod per long rest

Level 6: Memory Ward

Starting at 6th level, you can create protective barriers drawn from the vast reserves of your knowledge. When you cast a spell of 1st level or higher, you can shield one creature within 30 feet of yourself. The chosen creature gains temporary hit points equal to twice the spell’s level. These temporary hit points last for ten minutes.

While a creature has temporary hit points from this feature, they are immune to magic that allows other creatures to read their thoughts, determine whether they are lying, know their alignment, or know their creature type. Creatures can telepathically communicate with them only they allow it.

Level 10: Archivist's Tome

Beginning at 10th level, your connection to the Veil Library allows you to manifest echoes of ancient knowledge directly into the world. As a bonus action, you may choose to summon a spectral tome from your mental Library. The tome hovers within 5 feet of you, lasting for 10 minutes before vanishing. While active, the tome grants you access to the following effects:

Knowledge Unveiled: When you summon the tome, and every turn after as a bonus action, you can search the spectral tome for lost knowledge. Roll a d8 and consult the result:

  1. Gain resistance to the next instance of damage you take before the start of your next turn.
  2. Recover one expended spell slot of 3rd level or lower.
  3. The next spell you cast this turn deals an additional 2d10 elemental damage of your choice (acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder damage).
  4. You and all allies within 15 feet gain temporary hit points equal to your Wizard level.
  5. You can immediately cast a 1st or 2nd-level Wizard spell that you have prepared with a casting time of one action without expending a spell slot. This does not count to the number of spells you can cast in a turn.
  6. You gain a number of temporary hit points equal to twice your wizard level
  7. Your next spell this turn can be casted without somatic or verbal components
  8. Reroll 2d8 choosing one of the two results, all 8's following are simply rerolled.

The Tome Can only be summoned once per long rest.

Level 14: The Codex

At 14th level, your deep connection to your mental Library grants you a Codex which holds the tap to all knowledge found within. While in possession of this codex your spell casting ability improves greatly, giving you the following benefits:

  • You can exchange your prepared spells every short rest
  • The time and cost it takes to learn new spells is quartered
  • Spells you cast have an additional 30 feet of range, if touch they gain an additional 15 feet instead
  • You gain a +1 to your spell save DC and spell attack rolls

As a ritual you are able to resummon and/or reconjure the codex in an hour as you re-manifest the powers of the great library. To gain all the benefits of this codex you must be attuned to it.
