Bard
Base Class: Bard

Ones magic is a collection of flavors. Bards of the College of Seasoning have learned to share that flavor to grant their allies additional strength through their inspiration and deal explosive damage to opponents. Bards that choose this path sometimes express this power using food related means, such as Cooking and Baking

Spark of Flavor

3rd-level College of Seasoning feature

Whenever you give a creature a Bardic Inspiration die, you create a Spark of flavor that is shown as a flurry of spices, flowers or magical images of foods. The effect surrounding the creature reflect the additional effect, as well as the Bards own talents.

When the creature uses the Bardic Inspiration die, the spark provides an additional effect based on whether the die benefits an ability check, an attack roll, or a saving throw, as detailed below:

Ability Check. When the creature rolls the Bardic Inspiration die to add it to an ability check, the creature gains advantage on the next Charisma check you make for 1 minute. The spark fizzles into sugar and sweet scents for the duration.

Attack Roll. Immediately after the creature rolls the Bardic Inspiration die to add it to an attack roll against a target, the spark bursts into spicy powder and food. Regardless of the attack hitting or missing, the target takes fire damage equal to a roll of your bardic inspiration die.

Saving Throw. Immediately after the creature rolls the Bardic Inspiration die and adds it to a saving throw, that creature can use their reaction to add that bonus to another creatures save provided they are within 30 ft. of the creature and haven't already used a bardic inspiration for that save.

Magical Utensil

3rd-level College of Seasoning feature

You gain proficiency in cooks tools. You can also imbue a pair of cook's tools with your bardic magic, creating a Magical Utensil. It is a Tiny object that can serve as your spell casting focus for your bard spells.

While holding your tool you gain the following benefits:

  • You know the Create Bonfire cantrip.
  • You have the scorching ray spell prepared. It counts as a bard spell for you, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can have prepared.
  • You can cast scorching ray without expending a spell slot. You can do so a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

If you lose the utensil, you can perform a 1-hour ceremony to magically create a replacement. This ceremony can be performed during a short or long rest, and it destroys the previous Utensil.

Your mastery of food and the magic it holds has allowed you withstand even the worst of foods. You are immune to the poisoned condition.

Your mastery has also given you the ability to create your Signature Dish. As an action you can imbue one creature within 30 ft. of you with your Signature Dish. They gain the following benefits:
