Deep within the few remaining untouched part of the wild lays a power, ancient and mysterious. You have disrupted its sleep, or drawn its attention willingly through different means. Regardless, the roots spreads through you now. Old entities whispers through the creaking of the wood and the rustling of the leaves, and you are now compelled to listen and obey.

Stem of the Roots

Starting at 1st level, you gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Animal Handling, Nature or Survival. You also learn to speak Druidic, although real druids will differenciate between you and them through something akin to accent.

Whenever you roll an ability check using a skill from the following : Animal Handling, Nature or Survival, you may use your CHA modifier instead of WIS or INT.

Skin of Bark, Mind of Kin

Starting at 6th level, you no longer have need for food or water, and while you still need rest, you can do so while remaining fully awake, only physically laying low. You gain resistance to poison damage, and advantage on saving throws against poison.

As an action on your turn, you may issue a command to a beast with a CR no greater than 1/4th of your level. The creature must succeed a WIS saving throw or obey the command to the best of its ability, as long as it does not directly go against its own survival. The beast is not aware that its mind was influenced after the fact.

Evergrowing Network

Starting at 10th level, you can access the root directly to project your senses through its network. When you touch the bark of a tree, you can project your own senses, still limited to your own range and capacity, to a point you choose within the interconnected plant life, although you cannot 'be' at more than one place at a time. Then, you can create a passage through the trees, linking the two places briefly so creatures can go throught both ways. This connection lasts about a minute, and other creatures cannot be aware of what is on the other side until they have gone through.

You may use this features once per day.

Part of the Woods

Starting at 14th level, when you would fail your Death Saving Throws, you enter a state of stasis as a tree grows from and around you, taking space equal to one size larger than you and protecting your body. This tree will preserve your physical form and your mind, although partially dormant. If a resurection spell, like revivify, is cast on the tree, it takes the form of your body and works as if your just had died.

You can extend this power to a dying creature you touch using your action, casting this ability as a Warlock spell, but may only have one tree formed this way at a time.
