Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians who walk the Path of the Primal Hunter suppress their rage and channel it into calculated ambushes. Patient and relentless, they vanish between strikes to steady their breath and mend their wounds, then erupt with brutal precision when the moment turns. Their killing intent can freeze prey in place, and any foe that dares turn away finds itself punished and driven back into the hunter’s reach. Over time, these barbarians learn to read their quarry’s strengths and weaknesses as keenly as tracks in the mud, adapting on the fly and ensuring the chase ends on their terms.

Level 3: Ambush Predator

While you are raging, you can take the Hide action as a Bonus Action, and when you activate your Rage, you can take the Hide action as part of that Bonus Action. In addition, if you start your turn hidden while raging, you regain hit points equal to 1d12 + your barbarian level. When you regain hit points in this way, your Rage does not end even if you haven’t attacked a hostile creature since your last turn, been attacked by one, or taken damage since then.

Level 6: Gaze of the Apex Hunter

Your gaze alone is enough to stop your prey dead in its tracks. As a bonus action you can force a creature within 30 feet of you to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your wisdom modifier) or be paralyzed until the end of your turn or until it takes damage.

If you are hidden from a creature when you use this feature, you give away your location as if you had made an attack, and that creature has disadvantage on the saving throw.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

No Quarter

The focus of your ire cannot afford to let their attention wander. While you are raging, when a creature within your reach makes an attack against a creature other than you, you can immediately make one melee weapon attack against that creature, no action required.

Level 14: Relentless Hunt

You designate a creature as your prey; as you draw near, its avenues of escape begin to vanish. As an action, you can choose a creature with which you are familiar that is on the same plane as you. The chosen creature becomes your prey until it dies or you use this feature again to designate new prey.

While a creature is your prey, you always know the direction to its location and, if it is moving, the direction of its travel. This sense is considered divination and is blocked by effects such as nondetection or mind blank.

Additionally, while your prey is within 60 feet of you, it can’t teleport, use interplanar travel, or take the Disengage action.

Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.
