Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians who walk the Path of the Sun Warrior draw their rage from the blazing fires that illuminate the sky. When these barbarians rage, they do so with a burning passion, possessing the destructive power of the sun itself to incinerate foes as they themselves are transformed into a being of flame.

These barbarians may have been born exposed to the elements on the hottest days of the year, or perhaps blessed by the sun gods. Maybe even one of their parents is an elemental being of fire.

Blazing Rage

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, when you rage, your body becomes wreathed in flames as you call upon the power of the sun.

  • Until your rage ends, your melee attacks deal an additional 1d6 fire damage.
  • You also shed bright light out to 120 feet, and any flammable object you touch or get within 5 feet of that isn’t being worn or carried bursts into flame.
  • Additionally, during your rage, you can perform a special ranged attack, blasting your foes with a powerful beam of fire. This attack counts as a ranged weapon attack with which you are proficient. It has a range of 120 feet and deals 1d8 fire damage on a hit. When you later gain the Extra Attack class feature, you can use this feature for one or both attacks.
  • Finally, while you are raging, you can expel flames in all directions. As a Bonus Action, you can force all creatures within 10ft of you to make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + constitution modifier), taking 1d6 fire damage on a failure or half as much on a success.

These features are active and available until your rage ends, after which you must rage again to gain these benefits.

Soul of Suns

Beginning at 6th level, you gain resistance to fire and cold damage as the flames of the sun burn within you at all times. You also learn the Produce Flame cantrip, and can magically ignite flammable objects with a touch as long as they aren't being worn or carried.

Additionally, fire damage you deal while raging ignores resistance to fire damage.

Raging Flames

At 10th level, your sun-powered flames have grown stronger and more intense.

The fire damage you deal with melee attacks and as a bonus action increases to 2d6, and your special ranged attack now deals 2d8 fire damage.

Additionally, you can perform more extreme attacks while raging.

  • A number of times per long rest equal to your proficiency bonus, you may replicate the spell effect of Aganazzar's scorcher at it's lowest level as an Action.
  • Once per long rest, you may replicate the spell effect of Fireball at its lowest level as an Action, but only centred on yourself. You take no damage from this action.

Although replicating spell effects, performing these feats do not count as casting spells and thus require no Somatic, Verbal, nor Material components. The DC for any saving throws made against these spells is equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your constitution modifier. Additionally, these actions can only be performed while raging.

Fire Flight

When you reach 14th level, you have learnt to use your flames to propel yourself at immense speeds.

While raging, you gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed and you can Dash as a bonus action as flames propel you across the battlefield.

Finally, while you are raging, you are immune to fire damage, and treat immunity to fire damage as resistance.
