Base Class: Bard
College of War
Bonus Proficiencies
When you join the College of Valor at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with medium armor and martial weapons.
War Song
Also at 3rd level, you learn to lead the march into battle. As an action, you expend a bardic inspiration die and begin to play your War Song, which creates a 10 ft emanation centered on you and that moves with you. When you start playing your War Song you can choose from the following two effects:
Glory. You and other allies within your emanation gain the effects of the Bless spell. Additionally, affected creatures gain a bonus to their armor class equal to half your Charisma modifier.
Discord. Enemies within your emanation gain the effects of the Bane spell.
While you are playing your War Song, you are considered concentrating on it as if you were concentrating on a spell. The War Song lasts for one minute, until you lose concentration, or until you choose to end it as a free action on your turn.
Improved War Song
Starting at 6th level, the volume and power of your War Song increases. The size of the War Song emanation increases to 20 ft.
Additionally, you gain the following reactions based on which War Song you are playing.
Glory. When an ally in your emanation makes an attack roll and misses, you can use your reaction to give them a bonus equal to your Charisma modifier, potentially causing the attack to hit.
Discord. When an enemy in your emanation deals damage to an ally you can see, you can use your reaction to deal thunder damage to the enemy equal to half your Bard level.
War Ballad
At 14th level, your War Song becomes an incredible ballad that can shift the foundations of war. The emanation of your War Song increases in size to 30 ft, and gains the following effects depending on your choice of song:
Glory. Allies in the emanation that take the Attack action can make an extra attack as a bonus action, this attack deals extra damage equal to your Charisma modifier. Additionally, their movement speed increased by 10 ft.
Discord. Enemies that start their turn in the emanation must make a wisdom saving throw. On a failure, they can use either an action or bonus action, but not both, and regardless of the creature's abilities of magic items, it can't make more than one attack during its turn. Regardless of whether the creature succeeds of fails the saving throw, its speed is reduced by half while in the emanation.
