Bard
Base Class: Bard

The College of Culinary Arts teaches that food is more than sustenance — it is magic, memory, and inspiration. Bards of this college treat the kitchen as their stage and their cookware as instruments, weaving enchantment into every bite. Through ancient recipes passed down by master chefs, they transform humble ingredients into feasts that mend wounds, fortify spirits, and even unleash spectacular bursts of magical power.

These bards are equal parts cook and performer, finding rhythm in the sizzle of a pan and melody in the aromas of their creations. Whether stirring a hearty broth to restore an ally’s strength, offering a fiery dish to embolden a strike, or preparing a masterpiece that grants miraculous second chances, a culinary bard ensures that the battlefield is never without flavor. To their companions, their meals are more than food — they are a reminder that hope and courage can always be rekindled, even in the darkest hour.

Spicy bonus

When you join the College of Culinary Arts at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with cook´s utensils and with one additional gastronomic toolset of your choice: brewer´s supplies, vinter´s supplies, or potter´s tools.

Culinary Inspiration

Also at 3rd level, you can use your Bardic Inspiration in a new way: by preparing and serving magical meals.

When you grant a Bardic Inspiration die to an ally, you can do so as a bonus action by ofering them a small, quickly prepared magical bite (an amouse-bouche). You must have your cook´s utensil ready to do this.

You can also prepare more potent meals when you have access to a cooking surface (such as a portable fire pit) and your cooking utensils. During a short rest, you may spend ingredients worth at least 1gp per portion to prepare magical dishes, wwhich remain effective for 24 hours before spoiling. You can prepare a number of portions equal to your bard level per long rest.

Culinary Creations
At certain bard levels, you unlock new types of dishes, each tied to your Bardic Inspiration die. You can prepare a number of portions equal to your bard level per long rest, and each portion requires ingredients worth at least 1 gp. A dish remains magical for 24 hours before spoiling.

3rd Level (1d6): Appetizers
Choose one of the following dishes each time you prepare food:

Hearty Broth. When an ally consumes this portion during a short rest, they regain additional hit points equal to your Bardic Inspiration die, in addition to normal healing.

Spicy Meatballs. An ally who eats this gains a bonus to their next attack roll equal to your Bardic Inspiration die. This effect lasts until the end of your next turn.

5th Level (1d8): Main Courses
Choose one of the following dishes each time you prepare food:

Grilled Neck Steak. An ally who eats this gains temporary hit points equal to your Bardic Inspiration die + your Charisma modifier, lasting until their next long rest.

Root-Exquisite Stew. An ally who eats this can, once within the next hour, roll your Bardic Inspiration die and add the result to a saving throw.

10th Level (1d10): Showpieces
Choose one of the following dishes each time you prepare food:

Thunder-Dragon Drumstick. An ally who eats this may, once within the next minute, deal extra thunder damage equal to your Bardic Inspiration die on their next successful weapon hit. Additionally, all creatures within 10 feet of the target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or be stunned until the end of their next turn.

Fairy-Feather Soufflé. An ally who eats this can, once within the next hour, use a bonus action to gain a flying speed equal to their movement speed for 1 minute.

15th Level (1d12): Masterpiece

Phoenix – Ashes to Ashes. This dish can only be prepared once per long rest. An ally who eats it and then drops to 0 hit points within the next 24 hours is instantly revived with half their hit points at the start of their next turn. Additionally, they erupt with vital energy: each creature within 10 feet of them takes radiant damage equal to your Bardic Inspiration die.

Gut and Roast

At 6th level, you learn to make yourself useful on the battlefield. When you reduce a creature within your reach to 0 hit points with a weapon attack, you can use a bonus action to expertly butcher it and harvest the finest cuts.

You gain a Fresh Ingredient, which can be used in place of 1 gp worth of ingredients when creating Culinary Creations. Using this ingredient doubles the number of portions produces in that preparation. You can only carry one Fresh Ingredient at a time.

Delicious Aroma

Starting at 14th level, the scents of your dishes are so tempting that they can mislead enemies and magnetically draw allies.

You can use your action to release an overwhelming aroma from your cook´s utensils or one of your creations. Depending on the dish, choose one of the following effects:

  • Soothing Aromatherapy: Each creature within 20 feet that can smell the aroma must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, it is charmed by you until the end of your next turn. A charmed creature cannot harm you.
  • Enticing Scent: You offer one of your Culinary Creations as a lure. Any creature that can smell the aroma and finds it appealing (DM´s discretion) may immediately use its reaction to move up to its speed with you. This effect does not force creatures to move into obvious danger.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
