Base Class: Barbarian
Legends say a Goliath entered into a dark bargain to infuse his very emotions with arcane power. A barbarian following this path will learn to harness the delicate balance between spells and rage, bring both into an equilibrium to overcome their foes.
Magic Sense
3rd-level Path of Magical Rage feature
As an action, you can open your awareness to the presence of concentrated magic. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any spell or magic item within 60 feet of you that isn’t behind total cover. When you sense a spell, you learn which school of magic it belongs to.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Level 3: Spellcasting
When you reach 3rd level, you augment your martial prowess with the ability to cast spells. See Spells Rules for the general rules of spellcasting and the Spells Listing for the wizard spell list.
Cantrips
You learn two cantrips of your choice from the wizard spell list. You learn an additional wizard cantrip of your choice at 10th level.
Spell Slots
The Magical Rage Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your wizard spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
For example, if you know the 1st-level spell shield and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast shield using either slot.
Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher
You know three 1st-level wizard spells of your choice, two of which you must choose from the abjuration and transmutation spells on the wizard spell list.
The Spells Known column of the Magical Rage Spellcasting table shows when you learn more wizard spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be an abjuration or transmutation spell of your choice, and must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.
The spells you learn at 8th, 14th, and 20th level can come from any school of magic.
Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the wizard spells you know with another spell of your choice from the wizard spell list. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots, and it must be an abjuration or transmutation spell, unless you’re replacing the spell you gained at 3rd, 8th, 14th, or 20th level from any school of magic.
Spellcasting Ability
Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for your wizard spells, since you learn your spells through study and memorization. You use your Intelligence whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Intelligence modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a wizard spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier

Focused Rage
While raging, a Path of Magical Rage Barbarian can choose to cast spells and maintain concentration on spells.
At the start of their rage, and at the start of every turn in which they are raging they can forgo the advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws, and the additional rage melee damage. If they do so then they ignore the restriction on spellcasting and concentration when raging. Additionally the Rage damage bonus can be added to any concentration saving throw
Arcane Anger (Bolstering Magic)
6th-level Path of Magical Rage feature
You can harness your wild magic to bolster yourself or a companion. As an action, you can touch one creature (which can be yourself) and confer one of the following benefits of your choice to that creature:
- For 10 minutes, the creature can roll a d3 whenever making an attack roll or an ability check and add the number rolled to the d20 roll.
- Roll a d3. The creature regains one expended spell slot, the level of which equals the number rolled or lower (the creature’s choice). Once a creature receives this benefit, that creature can’t receive it again until after a long rest.
You can take this action a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Reckless Mysticism
6th Level Path of Magical Rage feature
Leaving an opening in your defenses while spellcasting gives an advantage with melee spell attacks. Your Reckless Attack class feature can now also be used with any melee spell attack roll.
Furious Riposte
10th-level Path of Magical Rage feature
When you are imperiled during your rage, the magic imbued in your rage can lash out; immediately after you take damage or fail a saving throw while raging, you can use your reaction to cast a spell with a casting time of 1 action or less. If you were not using the Focused Rage option, you automatically begin to do so as part of the reaction.
Mystic Furiosity
14th-level Path of Magical Rage feature
The magical power of your rage imbues your spells with intense power. While raging any spell cast will have a damage bonus and saving throw DC increased by the Barbarian Rage Damage Bonus. Additionally while raging, melee spell attack rolls will score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
