Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Dejinn of Madness, Echo of the Hundred Year War

Shiga’on is not summoned by ritual, nor by pact, but by repetition. Punch a tree until your knuckles bleed. Count grains of sand until the tide forgets you. When the world begins to fray at the edges, Shiga’on whispers back.

A voice. Then eight. Then shadowy figures that flicker at the edge of vision. You are never alone again.

Expanded Spell List:

The Follower of Shiga’on lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you:

Spell Level Spells
1st Dissonant Whispers, Silent Image
2nd Mirror Image, Phantasmal Force
3rd Major Image, Hunger of Hadar
4th Confusion, Hallucinatory Terrain
5th Synaptic Static, Dream

Level 3: Maddening Chorus

When you form a pact with Shiga’on, roll a d8. You gain that many Voices permanently, fragments of past lives that now reside in your mind. Each Voice is a distinct personality (roll a d12 for each using your provided table), and they constantly argue, whisper, and offer unsolicited advice (Dms Discretion).

  • Roleplay Feature: The Voices speak to you and each other. You may choose to have one take over your speech for a round, offering cryptic or unhinged commentary.

  • Mechanical Feature: Once per short rest, you may invoke the Chorus. Choose one Voice. You gain advantage on one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw that aligns with its personality (e.g., Paranoid might grant advantage on Investigation or Insight).

  • Drawback: After using this feature, roll a d6. On a 1, the Voices overwhelm you. You are blinded until the end of your next turn as they argue about the best way to see.

Roll a d4 each time you use a subclass feature to determine how the Voices react:

d4 Reaction
1 They argue about whether you should have used it at all.
2 One Voice sulks and refuses to speak for an hour.
3 They all applaud, but sarcastically.
4 A new Voice appears, claiming to be your long-lost uncle. He’s wrong.

Level 6: Hallucinatory Entourage

The shadowy figures you see begin to manifest in ways others can perceive, though only barely.

  • You gain the See Invisibility spell, which you can cast once per long rest without expending a spell slot.

  • When you cast an illusion or enchantment spell, shadowy figures appear around you, distracting enemies. Choose one creature within 10 feet of you, it has disadvantage on its next saving throw against that spell.

Level 10: Internal Civil War

Your Voices have grown louder, more distinct, and now they fight.

  • Once per long rest, you can unleash the Internal Civil War. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:

    • You may cast Mirror Image without using a spell slot.

    • When you take damage, roll a d8. On a roll equal to or lower than your number of Voices, one Voice absorbs the pain. You reduce the damage by 1d10 + your Charisma modifier.

    • At the end of each of your turns, roll a d6. On a 1, the Voices argue violently, you take 1d6 psychic damage and lose concentration if concentrating on a spell.

Level 14: Fractured Reality

You become a living conduit of Shiga’on’s madness. Reality bends around your presence.

  • As an action, you can force all creatures within 30 feet to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = your spell save DC). On a failure, they perceive the world as you do for 1 minute:

    • They see illusory figures.

    • They hear conflicting voices.

    • They have disadvantage on Intelligence and Wisdom checks.

  • You can use this feature once per long rest.
