Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of 42 are masters of unconventional combat, proving that even the most mundane items can become deadly weapons in the right hands. They have spent countless hours perfecting a unique style of unarmed combat that incorporates a simple cloth item, most often a beach towel, transforming it into a versatile tool for both defense and offense.

Once upon a time, in a Crystal Sphere some where no self respecting Spell Jammer ever wondered. On a tiny unremarkable planet, of no consequence whatsoever. Stood a proud Monastery quite simply teeming with busy, busy monks. The poor monks were in fact so busy, that they nearly missed the destruction of their up until now. Happy Home. Coincidentally it just so happened that as the Mimic Moon was devouring the planet, most of the monks were blissfully ensconced in steaming glorious water in the bath house. The monks grabbed the closest thing too their left. As one does when one finds ones self in the Apocalypse. The Monk fought many mimics, even living in Odalaya for a time until being rescued. As you can imagine, it's a tough life being hunted by mimics all hours of the day and night, just a birthday suit and towel. The monks trained under fire with their towels. Thus was born "The Way of 42" during any respite the monks meditated, remaining in deep thought. The descendants of these monks teach the Way of 42 across the spheres to this day.

Unconventional Weaponry

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with improvised weapons and the Beach Towel. The Beach Towel is a monk weapon for you, and it uses your Martial Arts die for damage. You can also use a bonus action to spend 1 ki point to either soak your towel or wring it out. Soaking your towel grants it the properties listed in its special ability. You can choose to wring out your towel to remove its soaked properties.

Fluid movement

At 3rd level, your training allows you to weave your towel into your flurry of blows. When you use your Flurry of Blows, you can replace one of your unarmed strikes with an attack using your beach towel.

Additionally, while you are wielding a beach towel, you can use your Dodge action as a bonus action.

Tidal Surge

At 6th level, you have learned to channel your ki into your towel, allowing you to manipulate it with incredible speed and force. When you successfully hit a creature with an attack using a soaked Beach Towel, you can choose to spend 1 ki point to have the creature make a Dexterity saving throw against your Ki save DC. On a failed save, the creature is pushed up to 10 feet away from you and knocked prone.

Aquatic Weave

At 11th level, your control over the towel's form and function is unparalleled. Your Beach Towel attacks now ignore the grappled condition, allowing you to attack a grappled enemy with advantage. Additionally, if you successfully grapple a creature using your Beach Towel, you can use your reaction to reduce their movement to 0 until the start of your next turn.

Tsunami of the desert

At 17th level, you can unleash a devastating surge of power with your towel. As an action, you can spend 4 ki points to make a single, powerful attack with your soaked beach towel against a creature within your reach. This attack has advantage. On a hit, you deal 3d10 bludgeoning damage and the creature must make a Strength saving throw against your Ki save DC. On a failed save, the creature is restrained and grappled by your towel. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and is not restrained. The creature can use its action to attempt to escape the grapple, making a Strength saving throw against your Ki save DC. The grapple ends if you are incapacitated or if you use your action to release the creature
