Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of the Lone Sirensong are rare wanderers whose voices echo with melodies not wholly of this world. Their art descends from the legend of a single figure — the “Lone Siren” — a mysterious musician said to have played beneath the dark waves, weaving songs that warped perception and bound even the fiercest of sailors in thrall. Unlike common tales of sirens who lure victims to shallow graves, this musician longed for joyous, grand feasts amongst their brothers and sisters who were taken from the corruption within the blackening tides.

Scholars argue whether the Sirensong is arcane technique, divine curse, or the echo of something vast and oceanic that slumbers far from mortal shores. Its bards call it neither blessing nor burden. To them, it is simply a harmony no one else dares to hear — the voice of the lone siren who sang against eternity, never silenced while dreaming within memory and melody.

Oceansong of Unending Feasts

Starting 3rd level, as a bonus action, you can expend 1 use of Bardic Inspiration and begin concentrating on performing a harmonic tune called the Sirensong. It lasts minutes equal to your Bard level, or until you lose concentration, become incapacitated, or unconscious. The Sirensong creates a 60-foot emanation centered on you that moves with you and does the following:

  • Enthrallment. When the Sirensong begins, creatures of your choice within the Emanation whose passive Insight is lower than your spell save DC become Enthralled, unless they are Deafened or hostile. Otherwise, they make a Wisdom saving throw against it, becoming Enthralled on failure (Deafened creatures automatically succeed). If this begins in combat, only creatures up to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1) are affected. You know when creatures resist or break free from the Enthrallment.

  • Drunken Perception. While creatures are Enthralled, their perceptions are partly under your sway. You can choose creatures up to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1) within the Emanation. They are Invisible to Enthralled creatures and treated as absent in all senses, unless revealed by external influences such as magic items, detection ability/spell, or hostile action taken against them. If an Enthralled creature grows suspicious, it may make a Wisdom saving throw against the Enthrallment, ending it on success.

Tides' Overtuned Serenade

While performing your Sirensong, you can use a bonus action to subject creatures up to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1) within the Emanation to its Enthrallment. In combat, the first damage roll on Enthralled creature(s) turns is reduced by your Bardic Inspiration die, to a minimum of 1 damage. Additionally, when you or an ally hits a creature within the Emanation with an attack or damages it with a spell, you may force it to make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, roll a d4 to apply an Ocean Dirge from the table below to it. Each one lasts 2 turns, and creatures can only have Ocean Dirges up to half your proficiency bonus (rounded down) at a time. New Ocean Dirges replace the oldest if this limit is exceeded, and duplicates cannot be applied.

D4 Ocean Dirge Effect
1 Shock At the start of its turn, the creature takes 1d4 Lightning damage.
2 Burn At the start of its turn, the creature takes 1d6 Fire damage.
3 Wind Shear At the start of its turn, the creature takes 1d4 magical Slashing damage.
4 Bleed At the start of its turn, the creature takes Necrotic damage equal to your Bardic Inspiration Die. This damage ignores resistance and immunity.

Rhapsody's Gloom Maelstrom

At 6th level, when activating your Sirensong, your proficiency bonus doubles for your Bard spell save DC (but doesn’t apply to your spells), and Ocean Dirges has a damage bonus equal to 1/5 of your Bard level (rounded up), also, if you or an ally attempt to impose an effect that damages target creature(s) at the start of their turns within the Emanation that isn't a spell, it uses your Bard Spell Save DC instead, if its original save DC is lower.

Summon Aquatic Life. Once per long rest, as an action, you can expend a spell slot to summon a Water Elemental (CR equal to half your Bard level, rounded down), its friendly to you and your companions. It has HP equal to 10 × the slot’s level + your Bard level, an AC of 10 + the slot’s level, and a bonus to attack and damage rolls equal to the spell slot's level. In combat, you roll initiative for it, which has its own turns. It obeys any verbal commands you issue to it (no action required by you). If you don’t issue any commands to them, they defend themselves from hostile creatures, but take no other actions. The Elemental remains until you finish a long rest.

In Nihility's Ablution, Bid Goodbye

At 14th level, once per day, when you activate Sirensong, you may spend 2 uses of Bardic Inspiration instead of one. If you do, it lasts 1 hour without concentration. During this performance, creatures can hold Ocean Dirges equal to your proficiency bonus, including duplicates up to 2 of the same kind (duplicates don’t gain the damage bonus granted by Rhapsody’s Gloom Maelstrom).

Also, once per Sirensong, you can cast a specialized version of the Tidal Wave spell, benefiting from your increased Bard Spell Save DC granted by Rhapsody’s Gloom Maelstrom without somatic or material components, or consuming a spell slot. The dimensions for it can be up to 60 ft. long, 25 ft. wide, and 25 ft. tall. You may choose any number of creatures to automatically succeed their saving throw (they take no damage). For this spell, creatures take an additional 1d8 bludgeoning damage per Ocean Dirge they have, and all Ocean Dirges on them immediately do their damage.
