Base Class: Barbarian
The Path of the Lovestruck Barbarian draws power from deep wells of passion, love, and sometimes heartache. Barbarians on this path find their strength in their emotions and their connections to others, becoming fiercely protective and incredibly powertful in the presence of those they care for or when witnessing threats to their bonds.
Level 3: Empathic Rage
When you choose this path at 3rd level, you gain the ability to enter a rage fueled by your emotions and connections. If an ally within sight suffers harm or emotional distress, or if a force such as a spell attempts to separate you or your companions, you can enter your rage as a reaction, gaining additional benefits based on the nature of the trigger.
If an ally is damaged: Once per turn, gain an extra bonus to damage on your next attacks equal to your Constitution Modifier.
If an ally is affected by a charm or fear effect: Gain advantage on all attacks against the source of the effect for the duration of your rage.
If forcibly separated (eg., Banishment): Immediately move up to your speed towards the ally or caster as part of entering your rage, without provoking opportunity attacks, and your rage cannot be ended until the battle is over or you are reduced to 0 hit points.
Level 6: Bond of the Guardian
At 6th level, you gain the ability to create a protective bond with an ally. During a short or long rest, you can establish this bond with one willing ally you choose. As long as you both are within 30 feet of each other, any damage your bonded ally takes is reduced by an amount up to your proficiency bonus. Additionally, when this bond protects your ally, you gain temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus.
This feature does not activate if you have temporary hit points.
Level 10: Valiant Rescue
Starting at 10th level, while raging, if an ally within 30 feet of you takes damage, you can use your reaction to teleport to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the ally. Upon arrival, you can make a melee attack with advantage against the aggressor. This feature can be used once per rage.
Level 14: Vengeful Assailant
Starting at 14th level, l your connection with those you protect sharpens your focus on enemies that dare target them. While raging, you gain advantage on attack rolls against any creature that has not attacked you during this rage. If a creature has attacked you, your attacks against them deal your rage bonus twice.
