Base Class: Fighter
The Art of the Longsword harnesses discipline and timing to cut down massive foes with flowing blade strikes. Inspired by hunters who track and slay towering beasts, these fighters are masters of reading their prey’s movements, responding with devastating precision and fluid combos.
Level 3: Spirit Gauge
When you dedicate yourself to this Art at 3rd your Spirit manifests in form of the Spirit Gauge.
The Spirit Gauge activates when you hit 3 consecutive attacks. With the first level of the Spirit Gauge your Weapon attacks gain an extra 1d6 damage of your weapons damage type. The Spirit Gauge deactivates after 3 turns. Also the edge of your blade glows in a white-grey light.
Level 7: Fading Slash
At 7th level When a hostile creature targets you with a attack roll, as a reaction you can dodge the attack and can make a attack role against the hostile creature. If you hit you gain one Spirit Gauge level if you miss you loose all your Spirit Gauge levels. You also can only use this feature when you have atleast one level of Spirit Gauge. .
Level 10: Increased Spirit Gauge
Your Spirit Gauge can now increase to level 2. With level 2 the extra damage increases to 1d8 of your weapons damage type. The color of the glow for this level changes to yellow.
Level 15: Spirit Mastery
Your Spirit Gauge can now increase to level 3. With level 3 the extra damage increases to 1d10 of your weapons damage type. The color of the glow for this level changes to red. You also gain mastery with the Monster Hunter Longsword.
Level 18: Spirit Helmbreaker
When your Spirit Gauge is level 3. You can do the Spirit Helmbreaker.
The Spirit Helmbreaker is a move where you dash forwared climb up the monster in quick succession, and then strike down into the ground dealing 8d6 slashing damage. You can only make this move as an entire attack action and you decrease your Spirit Gauge level by 1.
