Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

The Oathbound Avenger is a modern subclass for the Warlock, embodying the dark, brooding essence of vigilantes. These warlocks are bound by a dark patron who seeks to cleanse the world of its magical abusers, using their powers to deliver swift, brutal justice to those who use magic for violence and crime. The subclass is designed to enhance your combat prowess, stealth, and ability to hunt and neutralize rogue magic users with efficiency and terror.

Expanded Spell List

Your patron lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Spell Level Spells
1st Shield, Hunter's Mark
2nd See Invisibility, Silence
3rd Spirit Guardians, Haste
4th Phantasmal Killer, Greater Invisibility
5th Dominate Person, Wall of Force

Mage Hunter's Sight

You can cast Detect Magic at will, without expending a spell slot.

Marked Prey

When you hit a creature with an attack, you can use a bonus action to mark it. The marked creature takes an additional 1d6 necrotic damage from your attacks, and you have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Wisdom (Survival) checks to track it. The mark lasts for 1 hour or until the creature dies. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Suppressive Aura

When you are within 30 feet of a creature that you have marked with your Marked Prey feature, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the creature's attack rolls against targets other than you. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Arcane Restraint

When you hit a creature with an attack, you can choose to restrain it as a bonus action, forcing the creature to make a Strength or Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier). On a failed save, the creature is restrained until the end of your next turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once) per long rest.

Arcane Imprisonment

You can cast Forcecage once without expending a spell slot. You regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest.

Vengeful Resilience

You have advantage on saving throws against spells cast by creatures you have marked with your Marked Prey feature. Additionally, you gain resistance to necrotic and psychic damage.

Absolute Suppression

As an action, you can target one creature you can see within 60 feet. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or be unable to cast spells or use magical abilities for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Relentless Execution

When you use your Arcane Imprisonment feature, you can choose to deal 6d10 necrotic damage to the creature and then banish it to a demiplane instead of using a Forcecage. The creature remains in the demiplane for 1 hour or until you dismiss the effect as a bonus action. You can use this feature once per long rest.
