Base Class: Artificer
A Quantum Weaver is an Artificer who has delved into the fundamental nature of reality, understanding that magic and matter are not as solid as they appear. They manipulate the probabilistic nature of the universe, twisting the laws of cause and effect to their advantage.
Level 3: Tool Proficiency
You gain proficiency with calligrapher's supplies
Level 3: Quantum Weaver Spells
Starting at 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class. These spells are Artificer spells for you, but they don't count against the number of Artificer spells you can prepare.
Spells:
Level 3:
- Shield
- Catapult
Level 5:
-Blur
- Enhance Ability
Level 9:
- Dispel Magic
- Haste
Level 13:
- Dimension Door
- Otiluke's Resilient Sphere
Level 17:
- Animate Objects
- Bigby's Hand
Level 3: Quantum Leaps
At 3rd level, you learn to exploit the principles of quantum superposition, allowing you to exist in multiple possible locations at once. As a bonus action, you can expend a spell slot to create a temporary quantum copy of yourself in an unoccupied space within 10 feet and has a walking speed equal to your own that it can use on your turn. The copy has an AC equal to your own, 1 hit point, uses your save abilities, and immunity to all conditions except the stunned, unconscious, and incapacitated conditions. This copy is a shimmering, semi-transparent image of you. On later turns, you can choose to swap places with your copy as a bonus action. This swap can be done even if you are grappled or restrained. The quantum copy lasts for 1 minute or until you create another one. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1) per long rest.
Level 5: Entangled Fates
At 5th level, you master the concept of quantum entanglement, linking the fates of two creatures. You can use an action to choose two creatures you can see within 30 feet of you. These creatures are now entangled. When one of them takes damage, you can use your reaction to make the other entangled creature take half of that damage (rounded down) as force damage. This feature can be used on an ally to help spread damage, or on an enemy to punish their allies for harming them. The entanglement lasts for 1 minute and requires the character to concentrate on it as if it were a spell, or until you use this feature again. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Level 9: Observational Collapse
At 9th level, your understanding of reality deepens, and you learn to exploit the power of observation. You can collapse the wave function of a creature's reality, forcing a single, definite outcome. When a creature you can see within 60 feet makes a saving throw, attack roll, or ability check, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on that roll. You can choose to use this feature after the creature rolls but before the outcome is determined. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1) per long rest.
Level 15: Reality Weaving
At 15th level, you have become a master of weaving the threads of reality, manipulating the very fabric of spacetime itself. When you use your Quantum Leaps feature, your quantum copy can now attack or cast a cantrip. It uses your spell attack modifier and save DC. The copy is a separate entity for the purpose of action economy, and can take a single action on your turn. Additionally, your Entangled Fates feature can now affect three creatures instead of two. When one entangled creature takes damage, the damage that applies to the other two creatures is still half of the triggering attack as force damage. Finally, your Observational Collapse feature can now be used to impose advantage or disadvantage on a roll. You can choose to force a favorable outcome (advantage) or an unfavorable one (disadvantage) as you see fit.
