Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

The power for a Dragon Knight comes from their Dragon Master. As they grow in power, a Dragon Knight learns to control this power and unleash it in powerful bursts called Dragon Attacks. These attacks can come in many forms, from blindingly fast strikes to attacks that let them drain their enemy's very life force, but they all have one thing in common: They showcase the raw power and fury of the Dragon Masters that bestowed that power. But all that power comes with a price. By accepting the blessing of a dragon, a Dragon Knight gives up their own will and pledges to serve their Dragon Master until death. If a Dragon Knight tries to rebel from their master, that very blessing can become a deadly curse very quickly.

Dragon Pact

  1. You have been chosen by a dragon to be their champion, enacting their will whenever and wherever they see fit to send you. In order to do this, they have blessed you with a portion of their power. The has changed your very being with the following effect:
  2. At 3st level, Choose an adult or ancient Chromatic or Metallic. This is your Dragon Master. You gain resistance to the damage type associated with your Dragon Master according to the Dragon's type (see you Draconic bloodline sorcerer for dragon type table).

As a bonus action, you can infuse your weapon with the power granted by your dragon master, imbuing the weapon with your Dragon Master damage type. This lasts until you take a short or long rest or cancel it as a bonus action. While active, attacks from this weapon deal an additional 1d4 damage of the Dragon Master's elemental type. Dragon Pact damage is considered magical. The Dragon Pact damage die changes as you gain Dragon Knight levels. Should your weapon leave your grip, The Dragon Pact fades immediately. An active Dragon Pact on a weapon thrown fades directly after the attack is complete. When the Dragon Pact is activated, you suffer damage equal to your character level, and you reduce your maximum hit points by an amount equal to your character level. These lost maximum hit points return once the Dragon Pact fades and cannot be restored otherwise. When a Dragon Pact fades, no hit points are regained as part of the restoring of maximum hit points. The Dragon Pact die increases to 1d6 at level 10, 1d8 at level 15, 1d10 at level 18

  3. As long as you are on the same plane of existence, your dragon master and you can communicate telepathically. This communication must be initiated by your master. This also gives you the ability to speak, read and understand Draconic if you don't already. As part of your pact, you are required to answer whenever they contact you, though they are not bound by the same agreement and can ignore you whenever they please. If you attempt to ignore them, they can inflict you with a level of exhaustion for each minute you ignore them until you respond.

Anyone attempting to read your thoughts while you are in communication with your dragon master must make a Wisdom saving throw as if they were affected by your Dragon Master's Frightful Presence action.

You can also allow them to see through your eyes and hear through your ears as a free action. If you refuse to allow them, they can force you to allow it. Make a Wisdom saving throw with the DC being the same DC as your Dragon Master's Frightful Presence action. On a failure, they succeed in forcing you to allow it.

Draconic Presence

Starting at 7th level, you start inheriting power from your Dragon Master and your draconic power has started manifesting in physical ways. This may be something like smoke coming out of your nose or your eyes changing to look like your Dragon Master's eyes. You can use these manifestations to inspire fear in an opponent.

As a bonus action, you can force a creature within 30 feet of you to make a Wisdom Saving throw. On a failure, they are frightened for 1 minute. On the end of each turn, they can repeat this saving throw. On a success, the frightened condition ends.

After using this ability, you must complete a short of long rest before using it again.

Your hit point maximum increases by 1 and increases by 1 again whenever you gain a level in this class.

Draconic Transformation

Starting at the 10th level, you can channel your Dragon Master's power to the point of changing you physical being. As a bonus action you can transform into a pseudo half-dragon. the transformation last for 1 minute, doing so grants you the following:

  1. When you change the damage type of your weapon attacks using the dragon pact class feature, your regular non-Dragon Attack weapon attacks now do additional damage. This damage equals 1d6 of the dragon pact type.
  2. You gain the ability to sprout a pair of dragon wings from your back, gaining a flying speed equal to your current speed. You can create these wings as a bonus action on your turn. You can’t manifest your wings while wearing armor unless the armor is made to accommodate them, and clothing not made to accommodate your wings might be destroyed when you manifest them.

This ability can used once per long rest.

Dragon Resolve

The power gifted to you by your Dragon Master has infused your body to the point that their chosen element no longer affects you. At 15th level Your resistance granted by the Dragon Pact class feature is now immunity to the damage type associated with your Dragon Master.

Improved Draconic Transformation

Starting at the 18th level, your power of transformation has evolved brining you closer to your Dragon Master. As a bonus action you can transform into a pseudo half-dragon. the transformation last for 10 minutes, doing so grants you the following:

  1. When you change the damage type of your weapon attacks using the dragon pact class feature, your regular non-Dragon Attack weapon attacks now do additional damage. This damage equals 1d10 of the dragon pact type.
  3. You gain the ability to use the Dragon Breath action once per transformation. The damage for this is 8d10 damage of your Dragon Pact.

Ability can only be used once per long rest.
