Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Sheriffs thrive out on the open plains under a beating sun and fighting ne'er-do-wells who threaten folks who make an honest buck. Some do it because of their kind heart, and others charge a steep fee in exchange for their "protection".

Level 3: Frontier Etiquette

Used to the life out on the frontier, you gain the following benefits:

Pistolero. You gain proficiency with Pistols. For you, being within 5 ft. of an enemy doesn't impose Disadvantage on your attack rolls with Pistols, and if you're holding one, you can load a piece of ammunition into it even if you lack a free hand.

Saddleborn. You have Proficiency with the Animal Handling skill and Navigator's Tools.

Level 3: Round 'Em Up

When you hit a creature with a Whip, you can use your Bonus Action to attempt to Grapple that target with the Whip, and can use your Dexterity modifier instead of Strength to determine the save DC.

While you have a creature Grappled with a Whip you're holding, you can only make attacks with the Whip against that creature, which doesn't end the Grappled condition.

Level 9: From The Hip

You gain the following Cunning Strike option.

Quickdraw (Cost: 2d6). You can make a single extra attack with a Pistol you're holding that you haven't already attacked with this turn.

Level 13: Frontier Focus

At the start of each of your turns in combat, the number you need to roll on a d20 to score a Critical Hit is reduced by 1 on each of your attack rolls, up to three times. For example, if your attacks would normally score a Critical Hit on a roll of 20 on the d20, starting on your next turn, they would score a Critical Hit on a roll of 19-20 on the d20.

If you take any damage, you lose all the benefits of this feature until the start of your next turn, unless the damage was first reduced by using your Uncanny Dodge.

Level 17: High Noon

When you take the Attack action during the first round of combat while holding a Pistol, you can choose up to three creatures you can see within your Pistol's range, making a single attack against each of them with Advantage. Any of these attacks that hit are Critical Hits.
