Base Class: Ranger
Where others see monsters as threats, you see opportunity. To you, every creature holds an essence waiting to be harnessed — to nourish, to empower, or to protect. Whether through intuition, alchemy, or pure appetite, you’ve learned the strange art of drawing magic from the meat of the world.
Level 3: Monster Harvest
When you or an ally reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to harvest a small portion of its essence — a fang, bone, or sample of soulstuff.
You can safely carry a number of harvested essences equal to your Proficiency Bonus. If you harvest another while at your maximum, you choose which one to discard.
Level 3: Monster Meal
During a short or long rest, you can spend 1 hour and one harvested essence to cook a Monster Meal. The effect of the meal depends on the type of creature harvested, as shown on the Monster Meal Table below. A creature can benefit from only one Monster Meal at a time. The effects of a meal last until that creature finishes their next long rest.
| Creature Type | Effects |
|---|---|
| Beasts or Plants | The eater gains temporary hit points equal to your Proficiency Bonus + Wisdom modifier, and advantage on saving throws against disease and poison. |
| Aberrations or Fey | The eater gains advantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws against magic. |
| Fiends or Undead | The eater deals an extra 1d4 radiant or necrotic damage (their choice) on their first weapon hit each combat. |
| Elementals or Dragons | The eater chooses fire, cold, acid, or lightning and gains resistance to that damage type until their next short rest ends. |
| Monstrosities or Giants | The eater adds your Wisdom modifier to their next Strength or Dexterity saving throw made before their next long rest. |
Level 3: Chefs Expertise
Gain expertise in perceptions or insight.
Level 7: Predator's Palate
When you hit a creature with a weapon attack you can infuse your strike with elemental flare. The attack deals an extra 2d6 damage, and you choose one of the following damage types: fire, cold, or acid.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.
Level 11: Feast of Fellows
When you cook a Monster Meal, up to six creatures of your choice can share it. Each creature benefits from the full effect, and they gain inspiration (d4) — a special die that lasts until their next short or long rest.Once before the die expires, a creature can add it to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw.
Additionally, you gain advantage on Wisdom (Survival) and Intelligence (Nature) checks related to identifying, tracking, or safely harvesting creatures.
Level 15: Gormand's Flare
When you or a creature who ate your Monster Meal scores a critical hit or reduces a creature to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to draw out its essence. You immediately gain one of the following benefits (your choice):
Recover Flavor. Regain one expended use of Predator’s Palate.
Rekindle Essence. Choose an ally who shared your most recent meal; they regain 1d8 hit points + your Wisdom modifier.
You can benefit from this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
