Base Class: Sorcerer
Your power doesn’t come from dragons, shadows, or storms — it comes from potential itself. Some event, entity, or twist of fate bound your soul to the space between outcomes, the liminal fabric of what could have been.
When others fail, reality closes a door.
When you fail, you leave that door open — and learn to step through it.
You unconsciously absorb energy from unrealized timelines: the blow that almost landed, the spell that almost worked, the leap that almost cleared the gap. That stored potential builds in you like static tension, waiting to be released in a burst of improbable power.
Potential Magic
When you reach a Sorcerer level specified in the Limitless Soul Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
| Sorcerer Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 3 | Bless, Enhance Ability, Mirror Image,Shield |
| 5 | Blink, counterspell |
| 7 | Dimension Door, Greater Invisibility |
| 9 | Seeming, Modify Memory |
Limitless Potential
3rd Level Limitless Soul feature
Your soul draws power from both triumph and failure, turning every outcome into energy that fuels your magic.
Failures: When you fail an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw by 5 or less, you gain Potential Energy equal to the difference between your roll and the DC.
Success: When you succeed on an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw by 5 or more, you can harness the surge of success to regain 1 Sorcery Point, or if you’re already at your maximum, gain 1 Potential Energy instead.
You can store a maximum amount of Potential Energy equal to your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus.
As a reaction when you fail an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can spend any amount of your stored Potential Energy, adding the amount spent to your roll. This may turn the result into a success.
You lose all stored Potential Energy when you finish a long rest.
Collapsing Possibility
6th Level Limitless Soul feature
When you spend Potential Energy to modify a roll, your magic collapses the space between possible outcomes. This automatically applies one of the following effects:
-
Echo Damage: If you modify a spell attack roll, add half the Potential spent to the spell’s damage roll.
-
Reality Fracture: If you modify a save or check, one creature of your choice within 30 feet must subtract half the Potential spent From it's next attack or save.
Probability Drift
6th Level Limitless Soul feature
You subconsciously manipulate the flow of chance.
Whenever you roll initiative or start your turn and have no stored Potential, you gain any amount of Potential Energy equal to your charisma modifier.
In addition, when you roll a natural 1 on a spell attack roll, you immediately gain Your max amount of Potential Energy.
Perfect Potential
14th Level Limitless Soul feature
You have learned to harness the full spectrum of possibility, manipulating outcomes in ways that defy chance.
Critical Potential.
Your spell attacks now score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
Reality Shift.
Once per long rest, when a creature within 60 feet takes damage from a spell (including your own), you can use your reaction to alter the flow of potential energy around it:
-
Amplify: Double the spell’s damage.
-
Dampen: Halve the spell’s damage (rounded down).
Potential Resurgence
18th Level Limitless Soul feature
When you would be reduced to 0 hit points while you have any Potential Energy, your will refuses to collapse. Instead of falling, you drop to a number of hit points equal to your current Potential Energy, and all of your Potential Energy is immediately expended.
When this happens, you unleash a burst of raw potential — a psychic shockwave that deals psychic damage equal to the amount of Potential Energy consumed + your Charisma modifier to all hostile creatures within 30 feet. Additionally, you regain 1 Sorcery Point for each hostile creature damaged by the shockwave (up to your Charisma modifier).
After triggering this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
