Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who follow the Way of the Sage study the forms and techniques of the ancient Great Sage who once led a rebellion against the heavens themselves. By learning the sage's holy and spiritual teachings, these monks can divide their body into multiple clones, grow in size, hide from sight, change shape, and even fly upon clouds.

Monks of the Sage are usually solitary wanderers, but some choose to take pupils and pass on the wisdom of the Great Sage to the next generation.

Great Sage Techniques

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use your ki to duplicate the effects of certain spells. As an action, you can spend 2 ki points to cast enlarge/reduceinvisibility, or mirror image. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 ki point to cast sanctuary or spend 2 ki points to cast misty step. You can cast these spells without providing material components.

Additionally, you gain the thaumaturgy cantrip if you don't already know it.

Spiritual Warrior

At 6th level, you learn to make the most of your spiritual powers in combat. You gain the following benefits.

  • When you spend ki points to cast misty step or you spend ki points to cast invisibility or sanctuary upon yourself, you gain a number of temporary hit points equal to half your monk level that last for 1 hour.
  • When you spend ki points to cast mirror image, you gain advantage on your first two weapon attack rolls before the spell ends, unless your target can see through illusions, as with truesight, or doesn't rely on sight, as with blindsight.
  • When you spend ki points to cast enlarge/reduce upon yourself, the bonus to damage applies to your unarmed attacks as well as attacks with weapons.

Heaven's Equal

At 11th level, your spiritual powers become faster and easier for you to use. When you cast a spell using a monk feature, you add your Wisdom modifier (minimum +1) to your saving throws made to maintain concentration on the spell, and if the spell is of 2nd-level or lower, you can spend 1 additional ki point to cast the spell using a bonus action instead of an action.

You can also cast misleadpolymorphtrue seeing, or wind walk, without providing material components, but you must target yourself with these spells. Once you do so, you can't use this feature to cast any of these spells again until you finish a long rest, unless you spend 6 ki points to cast one of the spells again.

Distant Strike

Starting at 17th level, you can extend your body and your weapons to strike enemies from afar. When you take the Attack action on your turn, each attack made as part of that action gains 30 feet of extra reach and deals 1d10 additional damage.
