Base Class: Sorcerer
Your magic comes from a blood curse that also comes with an incurable hunger. This is not a normal hunger however, as its a hunger for blood. Most bearers of this curse give in, feeding on any living being they can find. Will you be the same? Or will you resist, feeding on rats and other animals?
It's your choice how you got your powers. Pick something from the origin table, roll on the origin table, or come up with something yourself!
d6- Origin
1- Your mother was bitten by a vampire during your birth, and you also received the curse
2- Your family was cursed by a vampire lord long before you were born, and it skipped a few generations
3- You woke up in a morgue one day with no memories and holes in you neck
4- You are an escaped vampire thrall, now hunted by your former master
5- Someone in your bloodline stole from a vampire lord, and the curse is the punishment
6- You agreed to be a part of an experiment that went horribly wrong, leaving you with your curse
Naturally Enhanced
Starting at 1st level, you have darkvision with a range of 120ft. You also gain proficiency with a martial weapon of your choice, light armor, shields and survival.
When attacking with melee weapon or an unarmed strike, you use your charisma modifier instead of strength or dexterity for attack and damage rolls.
Unyielding Hunger
Start at 1st level, you are overwhelmed by a desperate hunger for blood. Using a reaction when you deal damage to a creature with a melee weapon or unarmed strike, you heal half the damage you deal (rounded down). This feature does not work on constructs. Any health that would go over your max HP is converted to temporary HP. You can only have temp HP from one source at a time. Each day you fail to feed your hunger, you incur a downside, up to a week. After the first day, you suffer a -1 to all attack rolls. After the second day, you lose 10ft from all your movement speeds. After the third day, you suffer a -1 to all ability checks and saving throws. After the fourth day, you now need to roll a d10 when attacking. If you roll a 1, the dm gets to pick one creature within range for you to attack. After the 5th day, the die you roll when attacking becomes a d6. After the 6th day, the die becomes a d4. Finally, at the end of the 7th day, you die and your body turns to dust. Only a wish spell could bring you back. Each time you use this feature, it puts your counter back by one day.
Surrender to the Hunger
At 6th level, you gain the ability to surrender yourself to the hunger that gnaws at you. Using a bonus action, you become more vampiric in appearance for 1 minute. Your teeth grow into sharp fangs, your skin pales, your fingernails grow into claws, and your eyes glow a blood red. You gain the following benefits.
- When you attack with a weapon or an unarmed strikes, you can use your Charisma modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, for the attack and damage rolls. All your attacks count as magical regarding resistances.
- Your finger nails grow into razor sharp claws. Your unarmed strikes now deal 1d6+ your charisma modifier slashing damage, and you can make 2 unarmed strikes with one attack.
- You can use a bonus action to bite a damaged creature. The bite deals 2d8+ your charisma modifier piercing damage. You automatically use your Unyielding Hunger for free and heal all the damage you deal. This attack counts as an unarmed strike
- As an action you can unleash an inhuman screech. Any creatures of your choice withing 120 ft must make a Wis saving throw equal to your sorcerer spell save. On a fail, it has the frightened condition until the end of your next turn.
You can use this an amount of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest, or using 3 sorcery points an unlimited amount of times, providing you have the sorcery points.
Vicious Hunter
At 14th level, you learn to utilize your curse to your benefit when hunting prey
When you use your Unyielding Hunger, you now heal all the damage you deal, instead of half. While In vampire form, your bite now heals double the damage you deal.
You can now have temp hit points from 2 sources (I.e. Unyielding hunger and The Dark One's blessing or from 2 uses of Unyielding Hunger)
When in dim light or darkness, you are counted as invisible until you attack or use a spell. You can regain your invisibility as an action, or as a reaction to missing a melee or spell attack, if you spend 6 sorcery points.
Ascendant Form
At 18th level, your curse has molded you into the ultimate unlife form. When you use your draining bite feature, all damage you deal is removed from the creature's max HP. You gain a 60ft fly speed. Any creature you damage with a melee weapon or unarmed strikes must make a (DC {{savedc:con}}) equal to your sorcerer spell save or be cursed for 1 year. This curse gives them all the weaknesses of a vampire, with none of the strengths. They take 20 radiant damage if they're in direct sunlight, 20 acid damage if they enter or end their turn in running water, and are paralyzed for 1 hour if they take 40 or more piercing damage at once. You can only ever have one creature cursed at a time. If you try to curse a second target, the curse is instantly lifted from the current curse bearer, regardless of success or failure. You can attempt to curse a creature once every day.
