Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Fuel your rage with a dark contract — but every gift demands a price. Those who walk the Path of the Blood Pact have bound themselves to a hungry spirit, ancient demon, or forgotten god that promises strength beyond mortal limits. In moments of fury, the barbarian’s heartbeat becomes a ritual drum, their blood the ink that seals each bargain anew. Every strike is a negotiation — each ounce of power purchased with pain, each surge of strength repaid in agony.

These pactbound warriors are feared and pitied in equal measure. Their eyes burn crimson with fury and the echo of their patron’s gaze. Wounds that should kill them only deepen their connection to the spirit that fuels them, blurring the line between sacrifice and surrender. Whether they made their bargain out of desperation, vengeance, or destiny, one truth remains unshakable: every drop of power drawn from the pact drags them closer to the edge between life and death.

Bargain Strike

Bargain Strike. While raging, when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can invoke your blood pact to deal additional necrotic damage. If you do, you take psychic damage equal to half the extra necrotic damage you deal (round down).

• Extra necrotic damage: 2d6 + your Constitution modifier.
• Psychic backlash: half the extra necrotic damage (rounded down).
• Uses: You can use Bargain Strike a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all uses on a long rest.

You must declare you are using Bargain Strike before rolling the damage of the attack.

Blood Echo

Blood Echo. Whenever you use Bargain Strike, echoes of the pact linger for a short time. After you use Bargain Strike, choose one effect:

• Harrowing Echo: For 1 minute, the target is marked by the pact. While marked, the target takes 1d6 necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns. The marked creature can end this effect by succeeding on a Wisdom saving throw against a DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier.
• Echoing Rupture: Immediately on a successful Bargain Strike, every other creature of your choice within 10 feet of the target takes 1d6 necrotic damage (no save).

You can only have one Blood Echo effect active from a single use of Bargain Strike at a time.

Debt Shield

Debt Shield. When you or an ally within 30 feet would take damage, you can use your reaction to invoke the pact and take that damage instead, up to a maximum equal to 2 × your barbarian level. When you do so, you gain resistance to that damage type until the end of your next turn.

• Uses: You can use Debt Shield a number of times equal to 1 + your Constitution modifier (minimum once). All expended uses are regained on a long rest.

If the damage exceeds the amount you can absorb (the 2 × barbarian level cap), the remaining damage still affects the original target as normal.

Final Offer

Final Offer. Once per long rest, you may make a final, desperate bargain. As an action, you willingly reduce your current hit point total by an amount equal to half your hit point maximum (this cannot be reduced below 1 HP). For 1 minute you gain all of the following benefits:

• Advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
• Resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
• Bargain Strike deals 4d6 + your Constitution modifier necrotic damage and causes no psychic backlash while this effect lasts.

After the Final Offer ends, you are stunned until the end of your next turn as the spirit collects its due.
