Base Class: Monk

Those who practice the Way of the Forge are possessed of an indomitable spirit that helps them to forge their own way in the world. In comparison to other monks, those who follow the way of the forge have a far more straightforward approach to combat, utilizing every aspect of their physicality and spirit to smash through any obstacles in their way.

Fortified Foundation

At 3rd level, the guidance of the Smiling Smith has allowed you to fully master the fundamentals of martial combat, allowing you to use the full extent of your body's current capabilities.

  • Hammer Handed: When you reach 3rd level, you have attained the ability to use your physicality to its fullest extent. You can use both your Strength and Dexterity for the attack and damage rolls for your unarmed strikes and monk weapons, rather than choosing between them. 
  • Reforged Defense: At 3rd level, you have improved your utilization of Ki in regard to defending yourself. You can spend 1 ki point to take the Dodge action as a bonus action on your turn. When you do so, you may roll your martial arts die and add the result to your AC.
  • Step of the Bellows: At 3rd level, you have improved your utilization of Ki in regard to hastening yourself. You can spend 1 ki point to take both the Disengage and Dash actions as one bonus action on your turn, and your jump distance is doubled for the turn.

Stoking the Inner Fire

At 6th level you have managed to stoke your Ki into a ferocious inner fire! You gain access to two additional Ki features.

  • Bust Through!

You have learned to harness your Ki to ensure your blows strike true. When you miss with an unarmed strike or Monk weapon, you can expend a Ki point to roll your martial arts die and add the result to your attack roll.

  • Focus!

You have learned to harness your Ki to increase your chances of landing a mighty attack. As a bonus action, you can expend 2 Ki points, and for the rest of your turn, attacks you make with an unarmed strike or monk weapon will crit on 18-20.

Ever Burning Inner Fire

At 11th level, your inner fire now burns at a fever pitch! When you begin your turn with zero Ki points, you can roll your martial arts die and regain Ki points equal to the amount rolled.

Armored Yet Unburdened

At 17th level, you can move in armor as easily as you can without it. When wearing medium or heavy armor, you are considered unarmored for the purposes of your unarmored movement feature. Additionally, you can add your wisdom and dexterity to your AC when you are wearing medium or heavy armor.

Inspired by the Smith

You gain proficiency in Smiths Tools, or expertise if you already have proficiency in Smiths Tools. You also gain proficiency in Medium and Heavy armor.
