Bard
Base Class: Bard

The tradition of the Bladesinger originated with elves. Emulating the tenets of Corellon Larethian, Bladesingers gracefully blend swordplay, music, and magic into a seamless art form. Bladesingers combine the best of elven culture and enjoy high social prestige among those who value art, music, poetry, dance, swordplay, or magic. Originally only elves were admitted to the College of Bladesingers, then eventually Half-Elves. Recently though a few colleges have opened that are allowing those of any race to learn the majesty and techniques of the most esteemed of elves - the Bladesingers.

Level 3: Bladesong Style

At 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Scimitars and treat Longswords as if they had the Finesse property. You consider the following weapons Bladesong weapons: Daggers, Longswords, Shortswords, Rapiers, and Scimitars. You may use any Bladesong weapon you wield as a focus for your Bard spells. You may also perform somatic components required by your Bard spells while wielding a Bladesong weapon. From 3rd level on when you choose which spells to learn you may pick spells of the Abjuration, Enchantment, Illusion, and Transmutation schools from the Wizard spell list. You may only learn Wizard spells of up to 3rd level through this feature. Lastly, you learn one Wizard cantrip of your choice.

Level 3: Dance of Defense

Starting at 3rd level, so long as you are not Grappled, Incapacitated, Prone, or Restrained nor under any other effect that reduces your speed to 0 and you are not wearing heavy armor or using a shield, you gain a +2 bonus to your AC. Furthermore, when you move at least 10 ft. away from where you start your turn you gain an additional +1 bonus to AC until the start of your next turn.

Level 6: Song of Celerity

Beginning at 6th level, you constantly sing or hum in battle. The magic of your song speeds up your actions allowing you to better blend swordplay and spell. When you use your action to cast a cantrip, you can make one weapon attack as a bonus action.

War Chanter

By 6th level you’ve learned the art of flowing with the chaos of battle. Every blow, yours, your ally’s, or your enemy’s is part of the tale being told. Your concentration on a bard spell or ability has advantage.

Dance of Death

At 14th level you reach the epoch of the Bladesinger’s art. The battlefield is the canvas and you the brush. As both your Move and Action for the round you may perform a Dance of Death. When you do so you move up to your speed, during which opportunity attacks made against you have disadvantage. As you move you may make a single weapon attack, with a Bladesong weapon, against any creature that comes within your reach. You may not attack a creature more than once in a round from the use of this ability.

This feature has 3 charges per short rest. These charges are recovered from taking a short or long rest.
