Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Some sorcerers are born with the calm glow of an inner flame — but a rare few forge that spark into a blazing weapon. Eternal Hearthflame Sorcerers embody the perfect union of fire and steel, turning their fiery spirit into a weapon of passion, endurance, and battle.

Where other sorcerers rely solely on distant spellcasting, a Hearthflame wielder closes the gap, channeling raw fire through their chosen weapon as an extension of their soul. Their blade burns with inner light, their strikes sear with conviction, and for every battle they engage in the flame within them grows brighter.

These sorcerers do not fear the front lines. Their magic manifests as strength and vitality — every blow struck against their enemies reignites their burning heart. In time, their control over the hearthflame transcends mere fire: their bodies become living forges, their weapons incandescent with willpower, and their spirit unyielding as flame itself.

Where they walk, warmth and ruin follow.

Hearthflame Training

your training with your hearthflame grants you proficiency with martial melee weapons, medium armor and shields.

Additionally, as a bonus action, you can form a magical connection between your inner flame and one weapon you are holding. This weapon must be a melee weapon that lacks the heavy and two-handed properties.

While the bond lasts, and until you dismiss it as a bonus action or become incapacitated, the weapon gains the following properties and can be used as your spellcasting focus:

  • You can use your Charisma modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, for attack and damage rolls with it.
  • The weapon’s damage type becomes fire.
  • The weapon sheds bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet.
  • if you let go of your hearthflame weapon or are dissarmed, you can use a bonus action to summon it back to your hand
  • The bond lasts for 1 minute, or until you let go of the weapon, at which point the connection fades. You can bond with another weapon as a bonus action on subsequent turns.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1), and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Hearthflame Soul

Your hearthflame’s warmth sustains your body and soul. you have a pool of temporary hit points equal to your sorcerer level + your Charisma modifier (minimum 1). These temporary hit points are immediately granted whenever you take a long rest.

Once per turn, when you hit a creature with a weapon empowered by your Hearthflame Bond, you regain temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus, up to the maximum amount in your Hearthflame Pool.

Temporary hit points you gain from other sources are tracked separately and do not increase this pool or count toward its maximum.

Blazing Heart

at 6th level, your inner fire burns brighter, fortifying your body and empowering your strikes.

  • Flame-touched Body. You gain resistance to fire damage.
  • Searing Assault. When you take the Attack action on your turn and attack with your Hearthflame-bonded weapon, you can attack twice, instead of once, if you throw your weapon it comes back instantly if you threw it as your first attack.

Blaze of the Eternal Flame

Your hearthflame burns with unending intensity, merging your fiery magic and burning will into one unstoppable force.

Whenever you deal fire damage to a creature with a sorcerer spell or cantrip, you deal extra fire damage equal to your Charisma modifier.

Additionally, whenever you deal fire damage with a sorcerer spell or cantrip, you regain temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus, up to the maximum amount in your Hearthflame Pool (as described in your Hearthflame Soul feature).

Inferno of the Eterno Hearthflame

Your hearthflame blazes beyond mortal limits, becoming an undying fire that neither time nor death can extinguish.
