Base Class: Druid
Anchor the World Where Balance Falters
Druids of the Circle of Resonance sense the invisible pulse that threads through every living thing — a steady rhythm that keeps nature and the planes in harmony. When storms rage or magic runs wild, these druids act as living anchors, stabilizing the world’s energy through their connection to that pulse.
Where others see chaos, a Resonant Druid feels structure. They wade into maelstroms, earthquakes, and magical tempests to calm the forces tearing the world apart. Their strength lies not in dominance, but in equilibrium.
Level 3: Resonant Focus
You have crafted a focus that channels the unseen vibrations of the natural world—a Resonant Focus. It might be a crystal staff, a ring of polished stone, or an artifact that hums faintly when magic stirs nearby.
While holding your Resonant Focus, you gain the following benefits:
-
You can use it as a Spellcasting Focus for your Druid spells.
-
You have the Druidcraft cantrip prepared, and it doesn’t count against your number of cantrips known.
-
When you cast Druidcraft, its natural signs—flickering flames, drifting seeds, breezes, or scents—subtly respond to nearby elemental or magical forces. These effects are narrative only.
-
If you lose your focus, you can spend 1 hour during a Short or Long Rest performing a ritual to create a replacement. Doing so destroys any previous one.
Level 3: Resonant Field
As a Bonus Action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape to stir subtle natural energy in a 20-foot radius around you. Faint vibrations ripple through roots, soil, foliage, and drifting motes of life essence. The field moves with you and lasts for 10 minutes, until you dismiss it (no action required), or until you are incapacitated.
While the field is active, the environment responds in the following ways:
• Difficult Terrain for Enemies. Enemies treat the area as difficult terrain, and an enemy that starts its turn in the area has its Speed reduced by 10 feet until the end of that turn.
• Agile Allies. You and your allies have advantage on Dexterity saving throws while in the area.
• Anchored Presence. You and your allies can’t be pushed, pulled, knocked prone, or otherwise moved against your will by enemy effects while in the area.
Level 6: Harmonic Casting
Your spellcasting stirs waves of natural resonance that either guide allies or disrupt foes. When you cast a spell of 1st level or higher, you can use this feature to apply one of the following effects:
• Ally Resonance. Choose one ally you can see within 30 feet. That ally’s speed increases by 10 feet until the end of its next turn, and it can use its reaction to move up to half its speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
• Disruptive Resonance. Choose one enemy that is hit by the spell or affected by it. That creature has disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Level 10: Stabilized Flow
Your mastery of natural resonance allows you to impede hostile movement. The radius of your Resonant Field increases to 30 feet.
Whenever an enemy creature starts its turn in your Resonant Field or enters the field for the first time on a turn, it must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your spell save DC or become restrained until the start of its next turn.
Level 14: Harmonic Slip
You can disperse incoming force through natural resonance. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to halve the damage against you and then move up to your speed without provoking opportunity attacks. During this movement, you ignore difficult terrain.
