Base Class: Barbarian
Dragonborn and dragons share a common ancestry, but few understand how deep this link truly goes. How not only dragons have access to a well of power that infuses them with magical energy and grants them their might. Not many are sufficiently in touch with this ferocious side of theirs to know of it, even fewer are aware of the power that it hides and only very rarely does one uncover how to tap into it. Barbarian's that do so follow the path of the dragon heart.
Restriction: Dragonborn Only
Only dragonborn can follow the path of the dragon heart, since this path is based on the natural ability of dragonborns and their ancient ties to the raw magical power that is inherent to dragons.
Your DM can lift this restriction to better suit his or her campaign if desired, but needs to grant access to the dragonborn's breath feature if they do so.
Empowered dragon breath
You begin tapping into the seemingly endless well of draconic power that dwells within you, changing your breath weapon significantly. Starting at 3rd level, you can use your breath weapon as a bonus action, but only regain it after a long rest. The damage caused by your breath weapon now ignores resistances.
You also gain the ability to recharge your breath weapon in combat. Once per combat your breath weapon recharges automatically if you fall below half your hit points for the first time. Further, you may spend a bonus action to roll a d6 while raging. On a 6 your breath weapon recharges. This effect increases to 5-6 at 6th level and 4-6 at 14th level.
Kiss of death
You start developing the ferocity of dragons. Starting at 3rd level, while raging you can use your breath weapon as part of a grapple or shove attack. This special use of the breath weapon can only target the attacked creature, but can be used regardless on whether the attack succeeded or not.
Awakened heart
You have drawn so much power from the ferocity within you that it starts to manifest in physical changes. At 6th level your breath weapon gains the benefit of your rage damage.
You further gain the ability to manifest dragon-like claws while you rage which you can use to make unarmed strikes. You use your Strength modifier for this attack and your unarmed strikes count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. If you hit with the claws, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier. When you use these claws to make an attack as a bonus action, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of this attack.
Draconic Presence
Your growing power has started manifesting in a fearsome draconic presence. Starting 10th level, the first time a creature targets you with a melee attack, they must first make a Wisdom saving throw against your breath DC. On a failed save the creature is frightened for 1 minute. The frightened creature can repeat this saving throw at the end of each of its turns. If the effect was overcome by a successful saving throw, the creature is immune to the draconic presence for the next 24 hours.
Blood of the ancients
You have gained so much experience in channeling draconic power that you can endure channeling it uncontrollably for a limited amount of time. At 14th level, when you rage you can choose to channel additional power to be enlarged as if affected by the Enlarge/Reduce spell for 1 minute as a free action. Once you use this feature you can not use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Further, creatures that you grapple have disadvantage on saving throws against your breath weapon.
