Base Class: Sorcerer
When the sorcerer locks in.
An INT caster that focuses on concentration spells. A wannabe wizard that thinks they're smart.
Level 3: Focused Casting
You gain advantage on CON saving throws made to maintain concentration.
Level 3: Smart Spells
When you reach a Sorcerer level specified in the Smart Spells table, you always have the following spells prepared.
| Sorcerer Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 3 | Inflict Wounds, Bane |
| 5 | Bestow Curse, Glyph of Warding |
| 7 | Arcane Eye |
| 9 | Scrying, Modify Memory |
Level 6: Well-Prepared
You can change a number of your prepared spells equal to your proficiency bonus after a long rest. You can change a number of your cantrips equal to your proficiency bonus after a long rest. Spells and cantrips are counted separately.
Level 6: Unshakable
When you fail a CON saving throw to maintain concentration on a spell, you can spend one sorcery point to succeed instead. You can only do this once per short rest.
You also gain advantage on CON saving throws when targeted by Counterspell.
(Note: If your table uses 2014 5e Counterspell, you give the caster disadvantage on their spellcasting check when you are targeted.)
Level 6: Constitutional
You gain expertise in CON saving throws if you are already proficient.
(Note: It does not show up in D&DBeyond as expertise, but as long as it adds your proficiency twice it's working. If it does not add your proficiency bonus twice, just give yourself expertise.)
Level 14: Peak Performance
Everytime you pass a CON saving throw to maintain concentration, you regain 1 sorcery point. The max amount of sorcery points gained per long rest increases as you level up:
Level 14: 2 sorcery point
Level 16: 3 sorcery points
Level 18: 4 sorcery points
Level 20: 5 sorcery points
Level 18: Dual Concentration
You can maintain concentration on up to two concentration spells at once. After both spells are active, one spell will end after the start of your turn (you choose which spell). If you cast another concentration spell while already concentrating on two spells, you must drop concentration on one (you choose which) to cast another. Roll concentration for all concentration spells separately.
