Base Class: Barbarian
Sometimes the best way to express rage is through punching and breaking your surroundings. Or at least that’s the thought process of the Reaping Mauler. These angry warriors focus on destroying their enemies with nothing but their bare hands. Be it enemy, man, or beast, the Reaping Mauler aims to shatter the bones of their victims.
Level 3: Brawler
Upon choosing this path at level 3 the character receives proficiency with unarmed strike with base 1d4 damage that increases to 1d6 while raging.
Level 3: Wrestling Brute
The reaping mauler gets advantage to grapple checks (both to escape one and to initiate one) while raging.
Level 6: Body Slam
At 6th level the reaping mauler can use an action while grappling an opponent to force opposing str checks. Should the target win they can attempt an escape from the grapple. Should the barbarian win, they slam the target (into the ground, a wall, anything nearby) dealing damage equal to their unarmed attack die times 2
Level 10: Improved Brawler
At 10th level the reaping mauler’s damage goes up to 1d6 while not raging and 1d8 while raging. Also they can make an unarmed attack as a bonus action while raging.
Level 14: Bonebreaker
At 14th level the reaping mauler has become the most dangerous it can be. Not only has it’s unarmed strike gone up to 1d10 while raging. But now while in a grapple they can force another imposing str check to break the targets limbs. The following limbs being broken have the following effects:
- Leg: movement speed is now halved and the creature can no longer take reactions
- Arm: all melee attacks made by this creature (with DM discretion) now have disadvantage
- Rib: the creature now has disadvantage on con saving throws and is reduced to one action per turn
