Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Whether you were nearby when a Luxon Beacon exploded, or you touched a mysterious artefact in an ancient temple, or you are an inadvertent result of some kind of paradox, one thing is clear - you seem to have issues following typical rules of linear time. what's more, you've learned to harness the Chronurgic magic within you to affect the world around you.

Temporal Awareness

3rd-level Shadow of Paradoxes feature

Being a paradox and existing on multiple timelines simultaneously you are aware of events that have yet to unfold. With being able to see through different timelines you are able to add your Intelligence modifier to their initiative rolls.

Paradoxal Shift

3rd-level Shadow of Paradoxes feature

Unable to maintain oneself in a singular timeline for very long, you begin to shift through the timelines that you exist in seamlessly. When a creature targets you with an attack, you can use your reaction to step into another timeline forcing that creature to roll their attack at disadvantage. Afterwards you vanish from your current timeline. At the start of your next turn, you return to an unoccupied space of your choice that you can see within 10 feet of the space you vanished from. If no unoccupied space is available within that range, you appear in the nearest unoccupied space (chosen at random if more than one space is equally near).

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Temporal Strike

9th-level Shadow of Paradoxes feature

You have learned to strike through timelines and realities with masterful precision. Upon re-entering this timeline from using your Paradoxal Shift feature, if you take the Attack action on that turn, you can make one additional weapon attack as part of that action. The extra attack deals extra force damage equal to 1d8, increasing to 4d8 at level 17.

Shadow Self

13th-level Shadow of Paradoxes feature

You have learned the value of possibilities. You can use a bonus action to magically manifest a shadow duplicate of yourself in an unoccupied space you can see within 15 feet of you. This shadow is a magical, translucent, gray image of you that lasts until your next turn, until you dismiss it as a free action, or until you're incapacitated. At the start of your next turn the shadow duplicate fades back into its own timeline.

This shadow duplicate acts as an ally and when your or an ally and your shadow are within 5 feet of a creature that can see the shadow, attack rolls against that creature are made at advantage, given how distracting the shadow is to the target.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.

Paradoxal Master

17th-level Shadow of Paradoxes feature

Becoming a master of your own paradox, you gain the following benefits:

  • Your Temporal Strike damage increases to 4d8
  • If you would be reduced to 0 hit points but not outright killed and your Shadow is in this timeline, instead you Shadow is destroyed and you are instead reduced to 1 hit point. (After using this feature, you must take a long rest before using it again.)
  • The range of your Paradoxal Shift is increased to 30-feet upon reentering this timeline.
