Base Class: Monk
Warriors of Balance gain a fundamental understanding that reality is stranger than fiction, and that the outcomes of any decision can be surprising. They learn to take unexpected outcomes in stride, and instead harness them to subtly influence causality.
Level 3: Duality
At the start of your turn, you can expend 1 Focus Point to enter Duality Mode for 10 minutes, and gain the following benefits:
Yin. When making a D20 Test, you may roll your Yin dice instead of the d20. Your Yin dice is indicated by the table below.
Yang. When making a D20 Test with your Yin dice, you may remove one of the rolled Yin dice, subtract the rolled value from the total, and store the value as a Yang die. The total number of Yang dice you may store at once is indicated by the table below.
| Monk Level | Yin Dice | Total Yang Dice |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | 2D10 | 3 |
| 6 | 2D6, D8 | 5 |
| 11 | 2D6, 2D4 | 7 |
| 17 | 5D4 | 9 |
Furthermore, gain the following benefits, even if not in Duality Mode:
Yin and Yang. When making a D20 test, you may expend any number of stored Yang dice and add it to the roll. If you are making an attack roll, if the addition of Yang dice would raise the roll to 20 or above, prior to other modifications, the attack roll is considered a Critical Hit.
As as an Action, you can expend 2 Focus Points to roll your Yin dice, and store any number of them as Yang dice.
Level 6: Inverted Strikes
You learn how to manipulate the opposing forces in the universe. You are Resistant to one of the damage types below. When you deal damage with an Unarmed Strike, you may choose to deal damage of its normal damage type, or the Resistance's opposing damage type.
When you have entered Duality Mode and you score a Critical Hit with an Unarmed Strike, deal additional damage of the chosen damage type, equal to the sum of your stored Yang dice. The Yang dice are not expended.
By expending 1 Focus Point as a Bonus Action, you can change the Resistance granted by this feature .
