Base Class: Ranger
The Vigilante works like many other 2024 rangers in that it has a slight focus towards hunter's mark. However it shares this bonus with allies and can even have them move the mark if needed, this gives a game play feel of working as a team to bring down a target.
Level 3: In My Sights
When you roll for initiative, you can use your reaction to cast the hunter's mark spell on anyone you can see, ignoring range. If you are already concentrating on the hunter's mark spell, but don't currently have a target for it, you can transfer it as part of this reaction instead.
Level 3: Vigilante Spells
When you reach a Ranger level specified in the Vigilante Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
| Ranger Level | Spell |
|---|---|
| 3 | Command |
| 5 | Rope Trick |
| 9 | Blink |
| 13 | Locate Creature |
| 17 | Wall of Stone |
You also possess a Vigilante trinket. Choose it from the Vigilante trinkets table or determine it randomly.
| 1d6 | Gift |
|---|---|
| 1 | A flattened Copper coin that is dated to when you got your first case. |
| 2 | The ring of a kingpin who ran an underground smuggling ring. |
| 3 | The broken hilt of a bandit's sword who robbed your local town. |
| 4 | A false proof of ownership once held by a corrupt landlord. |
| 5 | The pipe of a slaver who tried to lie low after being found out. |
| 6 | The tooth of a man who was found attacking women in the middle of the night. |
Level 3: Vigilante Intuition
Whenever you make a Intelligence check, you gain a bonus to the check equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of +1).
You also gain proficiency in one of these skills of your choice: Investigation, History, or Nature.
Level 7: Focus Fire
You've learned to point out weaknesses to your allies as well. Whenever a target of your hunter's mark takes damage from a weapon, unarmed strike or natural weapon, they take an additional 1d6 damage of that attack's type. This can only happen once per turn, including yours. (This does mean once per turn, when you hit a target of your hunter's mark, they take an additional 2d6 damage.)
Any feature that empowers Hunter's mark, such as the level 20 ranger feature, this damage is increased as well.
Level 11: Cornered Mark
The target of the Vigilante's Hunter's Mark Spell now also rolls an additional D6 on every weapon, unarmed or natural weapon attack damage roll, and subtracts it from the damage made to a minimum of 0.
Level 15: Relentless Tracker
Whenever you strike a creature who is not the target of your hunter's mark while you are concentrating on the spell, you can transfer the spell to the new target, even if the original is still alive. Additionally, whenever an ally hits a creature under the effect of your hunter's mark spell, they can also trigger a reaction attack from you to hit the same target with a weapon attack, provided you are within range.
Finally, when you cast the Hunter's Mark spell, you can trigger a reaction attack from an ally within 30ft to attack the target of your spell provided they are within range to do so.
