Base Class: Barbarian
While most barbarians focus on head-on tactics, those that follow the Path of the Hulking Shadow are experts of subterfuge. They treat the shadows as a second skin, weaving themselves among their primal power in order to blindside and befuddle their opponents.
Level 3: Shadow Tactics
Your expertise on the art of shadows and subterfuge grant you the following benefits.
Sneaky. You gain proficiency in Stealth, or one Barbarian skill of your choice if you already have it.
One With Darkness. You gain Darkvision with a range of 120 feet.
Shadow-Veiled Rage. As a part of the bonus action that you take to enter or maintain rage, you can take the Hide action.
Level 6: Hidden Strike
You become adept at allowing yourself to remain hidden even as you lash out at them. While you are Invisible to a creature and hit it with an attack, the target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC 8 plus your Strength modifier and Proficiency Bonus) or you remain Invisible to it until the end of its next turn.
Level 10: Shadow Projection
You are so in tune with the shadows that your own can cover your mistakes. Once per turn, when you miss with an attack roll, you can immediately make one additional melee weapon attack, allowing your shadow to strike for you. This attack deals psychic damage instead of the attack's normal damage type.
Level 14: Manifest Umbral
You can cause the shadows to manipulate themselves in incredible ways when you focus. When you enter rage, you can cast any illusion spell of 5th level or lower with a casting time of one action. If you need to concentrate on that spell normally, you can still do so while raging. Strength is your spellcasting ability for this spell.
