Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

The Oath of Discovery is for those who wish to seek out great mysteries, be it personal or out of general curiosity of the unknown. Those few paladins that swear to this oath put knowledge of the truth above all else, and go to great lengths to seek it out, as well as determine if common truth is legitimate. These paladins could be explorers seeking unseen lands, treasure hunters searching for untold relics, elite information gatherers sent to uncover political secrets, or simply someone who wishes to unravel some deep mystery about themselves. These paladins are not too common as they are not particularly boisterous about their faith, but rather use it to aid in their endeavors and attribute their divine aid to their success.

TENETS OF DISCOVERY

These tenets are guidelines that Paladins of Discovery follow in their mission to reach full self actualization as well as uncover any secret that intrigues them. This oath is more of a promise to ones self rather than to a deity, a promise that you will seek the truth above all else, and come to know your true self.

Explore the Unknown. Seek out the mysteries of the world and delve into them
Discover yourself. Perhaps the greatest secret is your true identity. You must come to know yourself
Question the truth. Do not take everything at face value, the "truth" can lie
Learn anew. Discovery new knowledge, be it simple or world rending

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Seekers Blessing - You use your Channel Divinity to imbue yourself with increased scrutiny. For 10 minutes, you have advantage on Intelligence (Investigation) and Wisdom (Perception) Checks.

Rend Knowledge - As an action, you can force the truth out of the mind of an individual. You target one creature within 30 ft. of you and they must make a WIS saving throw. On failure, you can choose to gain one piece of knowledge they have. They do not verbally speak it,  but they are aware you have extracted that information form them. The knowledge you gain must be something basic,  such as the location of a treasure they are hiding or a secret password. It cannot be something extensive such as years of combat training or how to cast a spell they know.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.
