Druid
Base Class: Druid

When a druid decides to enter the hidden depths of the Arctic, they may learn to master an ancient and unforgiving power. This path grants them control over creatures that thrive on the frozen borders of the world and allows them to harness the strength of ice itself.

Training in such extreme conditions requires determination and hope. The cold shows no mercy: the weak may perish, but those who survive earn access to great power, becoming living embodiments of frost, endurance, and survival.

Level 3: Rage of the Frozen Wild

When you reach 3rd level, you learn to summon a starving and furious creature from the frozen edges of the world.

As an action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape to summon one Hungry Arctic Beast in an unoccupied space you can see within 30 feet of you. The beast takes the form of an arctic animal such as a penguin or seal, twisted by hunger and primal rage.

The summoned beast has the following traits: It is friendly to you and your allies and obeys your commands. It acts immediately after your turn and lasts for 1 minute, until reduced to 0 hit points, or until you dismiss it (no action required). On each of its turns, the beast must attempt to move toward and attack a hostile creature, prioritizing the nearest enemy. If multiple enemies are present, you choose which one it attacks. The beast’s attacks deal cold damage, and its violent nature makes it relentless in combat.

You can summon this beast a limited number of times, and you regain all uses when you finish a long rest.

When you summon your Hungry Arctic Beast, you shape its primal nature by choosing one of the following modes. This choice reflects the instinct you awaken within the creature and lasts for the duration of the summon.

Cold-Blooded Stalker

You suppress the beast’s rage and sharpen its instincts into calculated predation.

In this mode, the creature moves like a living shadow across ice and snow, watching, waiting, and striking at the perfect moment. Its presence chills the air, and enemies feel an unnatural cold crawl through their bodies as the beast closes in. Those it wounds find their movements slowed, as if the Arctic itself is tightening its grip.

The beast favors vulnerable targets, isolating them before delivering precise, merciless attacks.

Frostbound Guardian

You force the beast to restrain its hunger, reshaping it into a protector of the natural balance.

In this mode, thick plates of enchanted ice form across the creature’s body, dulling incoming blows and anchoring it firmly to the battlefield. It positions itself between danger and its allies, absorbing punishment meant for others and refusing to yield ground.

Though its attacks are slower and more deliberate, the beast becomes an unbreakable symbol of endurance, mirroring the eternal stillness of glaciers.

Ravenous Predator

You awaken the beast’s most violent instinct: endless hunger.

In this mode, the creature is driven by an overwhelming need to feed, ignoring pain and danger. Its movements are reckless but terrifying, as it throws itself at enemies with savage intent. Each strike fuels its frenzy, causing its attacks to grow heavier and more brutal as the battle continues.

The beast shows no concern for defense or positioning, existing only to tear into its prey and satisfy its primal need to consume.

Level 3: 🧊 Frozen Bond

When you reach 3rd level, the bond between you and your summoned arctic beast deepens, feeding your strength through shared instinct and hunger.

While your Hungry Arctic Beast is summoned, you gain the following benefits: You gain temporary hit points at the start of your turn, representing the cold reinforcing your body. Your spells and attacks are empowered by the presence of your beast, sharpening your focus and aggression. If your summoned beast is reduced to 0 hit points, the bond shatters violently, briefly chilling the area around it.

This feature functions only while your summoned beast is active and ends immediately when it disappears.

Level 6: Arctic Empowerment

Starting at 6th level, the frozen bond between you and your summoned beast allows it to channel the true savagery of the Arctic.

While your Hungry Arctic Beast is summoned, it gains the following benefits: The beast’s attacks deal additional cold damage, as its claws, tusks, or beak are coated in magical ice. When the beast hits a creature, that creature’s movement is reduced until the end of its next turn, as frost creeps over its body. Your summoned beast ignores difficult terrain created by ice or snow and moves with unnatural ease across frozen surfaces.

These benefits end immediately when your summoned beast disappears.

Level 10: Icebound Berserker

At 10th level, you can encase your summoned beast in ancient ice, forging weapons and armor from the frozen wilds.

As a bonus action, while your Hungry Arctic Beast is summoned, you can empower it with Glacial Armament for a short time.

While this effect is active, the beast gains the following benefits: The beast is covered in thick ice armor, greatly increasing its durability. Its natural attacks manifest as frozen weapons, dealing additional cold damage. Each time the beast deals damage to a creature, it builds glacial momentum, increasing the power of its next attack as the ice grows sharper and heavier. This growing power has a clear limit and fades when the effect ends.

When Glacial Armament ends, the ice shatters dramatically, and the beast returns to its normal summoned form.

You can use this feature a limited number of times, and you regain all uses when you finish a long rest.

Blizzard Tyrant

The berserker becomes the center of a raging arctic storm.

In this mode, swirling winds and shards of ice surround the berserker, asserting dominance over the battlefield. Enemies nearby struggle to move and feel their strength drained by the supernatural cold. The berserker advances slowly but inexorably, crushing resistance through presence alone.

This form reflects the authority of ancient arctic spirits that rule through fear and inevitability.

Frozen Blood Frenzy

In this mode, the icebound body feeds on violence. As damage is dealt, frozen veins glow with primal energy, reinforcing the berserker’s strength and presence. Wounds instantly frost over, slowing bleeding and dulling pain, allowing the berserker to remain standing far beyond normal limits.

This option represents survival through relentless aggression, where pain only sharpens instinct.

Glacial Ravager

The berserker’s rage manifests as raw, destructive force.

In this mode, the ice surrounding the creature cracks and splinters with every movement, releasing bursts of frozen energy with each attack. The berserker fights with reckless brutality, favoring overwhelming offense over survival. Every successful strike builds momentum, making subsequent attacks feel heavier and more devastating, as if the weight of an entire glacier is crashing down upon the enemy.

This form embodies the unstoppable advance of shifting ice sheets.

Level 14: Ice sanctuary

At 14th level, your bond with the frozen wild reaches its ultimate form. Through ancient druidic rites known only to those who survive the Arctic’s cruelty, you and your summoned beast can become a single, legendary entity.

As an action, while your Hungry Arctic Beast is summoned, you can cause it to transform into a Giant Ancestral Ice Penguin, a colossal avatar of primal cold and ancient nature. When this transformation occurs, you merge into the creature, becoming its heart and guiding will.

While merged in this form, the following effects apply: You are no longer a separate creature on the battlefield. Instead, you control the Ice Penguin directly, using its movement, senses, and attacks as your own. You and the Ice Penguin are perfectly synchronized, sharing instincts, reactions, and intent. Effects that strengthen the beast also strengthen you. The Ice Penguin is encased in layers of ancient glacial ice, granting it immense resilience and resistance to cold-based harm. Its massive beak, flippers, and body are treated as natural druidic weapons, empowered by primal magic and dealing powerful cold damage. Each time the Ice Penguin deals damage, the bond between you deepens, causing waves of druidic frost to surge through the avatar, reinforcing its presence and dominance. The area around the Ice Penguin is affected by supernatural cold, reflecting the overwhelming influence of the Arctic spirit you embody.

This transformation lasts for a very short time, after which the ancestral ice fractures and collapses. You emerge from the shattered form in an unoccupied space nearby, and your summoned beast either returns to its normal form or disappears, exhausted by the transformation.

Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
