Base Class: Sorcerer
Your innate magic is intertwined with a spirit bound to your very soul—a fragment of another being that lives within you. This being, called an eidolon, may take many forms: celestial, fey, fiendish, or undead. Unlike the patrons of warlocks, an eidolon is not a master, but an inseparable companion. Its presence is constant, a consciousness irreversibly tethered to your own.
As a Bound Soul sorcerer, consider the personality of your eidolon carefully. You may roll on the Eidolon Personality Table below, or create your own:
Eidolon Personality
| d6 | Personality |
|---|---|
| 1 | Stoic and silent, speaks rarely. |
| 2 | Mischievous and playful. |
| 3 | Prideful and commanding. |
| 4 | Gentle and compassionate. |
| 5 | Cold and calculating. |
| 6 | Curious and inquisitive. |
Soul Eidolon
Beginning at 1st level, an otherworldly spirit binds itself to your soul, and can be manifested as an eidolon. Choose the form of your eidolon: celestial, fey, fiend, or undead. This choice determines several of your subclass features. Each form is associated with a specific damage type:
| Form | Damage Type |
|---|---|
| Celestial | Radiant Damage |
| Fey | Psychic Damage |
| Fiend | Fire Damage |
| Undead | Necrotic Damage |
Your eidolon is always by your side, and is friendly to you and your companions, and obeys your commands. While your eidolon is within 100 feet of you, you can communicate with it telepathically. You can temporarily dismiss it into your soul as a bonus action, and resummon it in an unoccupied space within 10 feet of you as a bonus action. It uses the Eidolon statblock, which uses your proficiency bonus (PB) in several places. You decide the eidolon's appearance. It might be a formless creature of crackling energy with a carved mask as its only discernible feature, or a spirit resembling an angel, devil, fae creature, or animated corpse, marked by your magic.
In combat, the eidolon acts during your turn. It can move and use its reaction on its own, but the only action it takes is the Dodge action, unless you take a bonus action on your turn to command it to take another action. That action can be one in its stat block or some other action. If you are incapacitated, the eidolon can take any action of its choice, not just Dodge.
If your eidolon is reduced to 0 hit points, it makes death saving throws as a player character would. If it is killed, it reappears at your side at the end of a long rest. When you finish a short rest with your eidolon, its hit points are fully restored. Your eidolon vanishes if you are killed.

Shared Essence
At 6th level, the bond between you and your eidolon strengthens. You gain the following benefits:
- You gain resistance to your eidolon's associated damage type.
- When you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher that deals your eidolon's associated damage type, you can add your Charisma modifier to one damage roll of that spell.
In addition, when you cast a sorcerer spell with a range other than Self, you can cast it as if you were standing in your eidolon's space, but must use your own senses.
Fire Resistance (Fiend)
You have resistance to fire damage.
Necrotic Resistance (Undead)
You have resistance to necrotic damage.
Psychic Resistance (Fey)
You have resistance to psychic damage.
Radiant Resistance (Celestial)
You have resistance to radiant damage.
Vessel of Power
At 14th level, your eidolon responds to your magic, releasing bursts of magical energy. When you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, you can create one of the following effects, determined by your eidolon's form:
Bewitching Pulse (Fey)
When you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, choose one creature within 30 feet of your eidolon. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, it is charmed by you and your eidolon until the end of your next turn. If the spell you cast was from your Bound Magic feature, the target has disadvantage on the save.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Grave Leech (Undead)
When you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, choose one creature within 30 feet of your eidolon. The target takes necrotic damage equal to your Charisma modifier, and both you and your eidolon gain temporary hit points equal to that damage. If the spell you cast was from your Bound Magic feature, the target cannot regain hit points until the beginning of your next turn.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Hellfire Detonation (Fiend)
When you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, choose one creature within 30 feet of your eidolon. The target takes fire damage equal to your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus. If the spell you cast was from your Bound Magic feature, a second creature of your choice within 10 feet of the first target takes the same amount of damage.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Radiant Overflow (Celestial)
When you cast a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, choose one creature you can see within 30 feet of your eidolon. The target regains a number of hit points equal to 2d8 + your Charisma modifier. If the spell you cast was from your Bound Magic feature, the healing increases by 1d8, for a total of 3d8.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Union of Souls
At 18th level, you and your eidolon can briefly merge into a single being of immense magical power. As an action, you can merge with your eidolon for 1 minute, until you are incapacitated, or until you choose to dismiss it as a bonus action. For the duration, you gain the following benefits:
- You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed, and can hover.
- You gain immunity to your eidolon's associated damage type and a +2 bonus to your AC.
- You have advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects, as well as on Constitution saving throws made to maintain concentration on spells.
- When you cast a sorcerer spell, you can change its damage type to your eidolon's associated damage type.
- When you would be reduced to 0 hit points while merged with your eidolon, you can choose to immediately end the merge to remain at 1 hit point.
When the effect ends, your eidolon reappears in an unoccupied space of your choice within 10 feet of you. Once you've used this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can do so again.
