Druid
Base Class: Druid

Druids tend to be seen as protectors of nature, but every tree can have rotten fruit. Some druids seek to twist nature to their own foul desires. The mysterious Circle of Blight hold this belief.

Many believe the origins of the Circle of Blight lead back to the creation of the first Gulthias Tree. The legend goes that when the stake that killed the vampire Gulthias was planted by a crazed druid, a group of more estranged druids sought the powers of the tree. These druids snuck into the underground grotto where the Gulthias Tree was rooted and stole several branches. The evil that was infused in the branches corrupted their minds, and the druids began to twist nature to their own will. Even if the legend is false, the Circle of Blight has always had a strange affiliation with the blights that were created by the Gulthias Tree.

The abilities of the Circle of Blight druids reflect their poison beliefs. They can control plants, summon the spawn of the Gulthias tree, and drain their enemies health while healing themselves and others.

Botanic Corruption

Starting at 2nd level, you attempt to control a plant. As an action, you can target one plant creature in sight. It must make a Wisdom saving throw against your druid spell save DC. On a failed save, the plant must obey your commands for the next 24 hours, or until you use Botanic Corruption again. A plant creature with a challenge rating equal or higher than your druid level is immune to this feature.

You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier(minimum 1).

Fortitude of Decay

At 2nd level, your affinity with the forces of rot and decay gives you resistance to their influence. You gain resistance to necrotic damage.

Circle Spells

Your affinity with rot and decay give you access to certain spells. At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to the spells listed for that level in the Circle of Blight Spells table.

Once you gain access to one of these spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn’t appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.
