Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

An Edgewalker is a living paradox, a tear in the fabric of fate. They are a warrior who was fated to die but, through a supreme act of will, refused their end. This defiance did not come without a price. Their victory was a hollow one, leaving them permanently tethered to the grave and cursed with an unnatural existence.

Their body is a canvas for their curse, withering and decaying with every wound they suffer, only to knit back together with healing. The most telling sign is the wound that should have killed them—a permanent, gruesome injury that never fully heals, a constant reminder of the death they cheated. Edgewalkers channel this grim reality into a terrifying fighting style, becoming more dangerous the closer they are to the death that so desperately wants to claim them.

Level 3: On the Brink

You have a safety net for your reckless style. If damage would reduce you to 0 hit points, you can choose to drop to 1 hit point instead. You can use this feature once, and you regain the use of it after a long rest.

Level 3: Cling to the Brink

While you are below half of your maximum hit points, if you would regain hit points from any source, you can choose to transfer it to your temp hp pool at 1hp per die.

Level 3: Wounded

When below 50% health you activate your Grave Shroud. When you hit with a weapon attack, you can roll 1d8 of temp hp.

Level 3: Critical

When below 25% health your Grave Shroud intensifies. You can use your reaction when an enemy hits you with an attack to impose disadvantage on the roll.

Level 3: Reapers Fury

While at exactly 1 hit point, you can use a bonus action to enter a state of pure killing intent for 1 minute. While in this state, any hit you score with a weapon attack is a critical hit. This state ends early if you regain any hit points or fall unconscious.

Level 7: Ethereal Armor

You've grown more accustomed to your spectral nature. While your Grave Shroud is active (meaning you are below half of your maximum hit points), you gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum of +1, maximum of +4). Only while wearing medium or light armor.

Level 10: Soul Hunger

You can stack temp hp, though temp hp disappears when exiting the brink state.

Level 15: Master of the Edge

You no longer fear the brink; you live there. Your On the Brink feature now recharges after a short or long rest.

Unyielding Soul

Your Reaper’s fury can now activate at or below 10%, with no need for a bonus action. The temp  hp dice is now 6d8.
