Base Class: Paladin
Paladins who swear the Oath of the Forsaken draw power not from a god, but from the lingering will of the forgotten dead. Their magic is born from memory, regret, and duty to prevent suffering from being meaningless.
Channel Divinity: Shared Burden
When a creature you can see within 30 feet takes damage, you can use your reaction and Channel Divinity to take that damage instead.
Channel Divinity: Shared Burden
When a creature you can see within 30 feet takes damage, you can use your reaction and Channel Divinity to take that damage instead.
Shared Pain (Healing Drawback)
Whenever you restore hit points to a creature using a class feature or spell, you take 1d4 necrotic damage. This damage cannot be reduced or prevented in any way.
Level 3: Oath of the Forsaken Spells
The magic of your oath ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Paladin level specified in the Oath of Devotion Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
| Paladin Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 3 | Protection from Evil and Good, Heroism |
| 5 | Warding Bond, Calm Emotions |
| 9 | Spirit Guardians, Revivify |
| 13 | Death Ward, Guardian of Faith |
| 17 | Hallow, Greater Restoration |
Level 3: Reliquary Armament
When you take the Attack action, you can expend one use of your Channel Divinity to imbue one Melee weapon that you are holding with the will of the departed. For 10 minutes or until you use this feature again, you add your Charisma modifier to attack rolls you make with that weapon (minimum bonus of +1), and each time you hit with it, you cause it to deal its normal damage type, Radiant, or Necrotic damage.
The weapon also emits Dim Light in a 10-foot radius.
You can end this effect early (no action required). This effect also ends if you aren’t carrying the weapon.
The weapon counts as magical while effect is active.
Level 7: Aura of Vigilance
You and your allies have Immunity to the [Tooltip Not Found] condition while in your Aura of Vigilance. If a Surprised ally enters the aura, that condition has no effect on that ally while there.
Level 15: Smite of Shared Burden
Your smite no longer manifests as radiant judgment, but as the shared burden of the forsaken. Whenever you use Divine Smite, you and friendly creatures within your Aura of Protection gain half cover until the start of your next turn. In addition, when a creature within 10 feet of you would take damage before the start of your next turn, you can use your reaction to take that damage instead.
Level 20: Soulbound Aegis
As a Bonus Action, you can imbue your Aura of Protection with the bound will of the forsaken, granting the benefits below for 10 minutes or until you end them (no action required). Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest, unless you restore your use of it by expending a 5th-level spell slot (no action required).
Shared Guard. You and friendly creatures in your Aura of Protection have resistance to all damage.
Bound Suffering. Whenever a creature in your Aura of Protection takes damage, you can use your reaction to take that damage instead.
Weight of Memory. Hostile creatures that start their turn in your Aura of Protection have their speed reduced by 10 feet until the start of their next turn.
