Base Class: Druid
A material plane is not a senseless thing. It knows when it is approaching the end of its life, and it dreads dying the same way any creature would. That fear makes monsters of even the most peaceful animals, and of any Druids that dare maintain their mystic connection to dying lands. Most Druids would rather sever that connection than be driven mad by it, but a rare few dare to give form and voice to their dying world.
Circle of the Apocalypse Druids draw power from dying material planes, and conjure totemic spirits of annihilation that serve them as mounts in battle to herald the coming of the end.
Level 3: Circle of the Apocalypse Spells
When you reach a Druid level specified in the Circle of the Apocalypse Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
| Druid Level | Prepared Spells |
|---|---|
| 3 | Chill Touch, Inflict Wounds, Silence |
| 5 | Stinking Cloud |
| 7 | Blight |
| 9 | Insect Plague |
Level 3: Omen Beast
As a Bonus Action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape to conjure and mount one of your known Beast forms for 10 minutes. The chosen Beast must be at least one size larger than you, and cannot be summoned if there are not enough unoccupied spaces around you to accommodate it. The steed is an ally to you and your allies, and functions as a controlled mount while you ride it. It disappears if you die or dismount, or if it is reduced to zero hit points. If you summon another steed, it replaces the previously summoned one.
So long as you remain mounted upon the Omen Beast, you gain the following benefits.
Apocalypse Slam. You may use a Bonus Action to have the mount attack a target within 5 feet of it. The attack's bonus to hit is equal to your spell attack modifier, and it deals 1d6 plus your Wisdom modifier worth of Necrotic damage. The damage die changes when you reach levels 5 (d8), 11 (d10), and 17 (1d12).
Rear Up. As a Reaction, you can force an attack that hits you to hit your mount instead if it does not have the Incapacitated condition.
Mount Omen Beast
As a Bonus Action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape to conjure and mount one of your known Beast forms for 10 minutes.
Level 6: Emissary of Doom
While mounted on your Omen Beast, you may use any of the following Bonus Actions. You may not use any of these Bonus Actions again until you finish a Long Rest or expend a level 1+ spell slot to restore your use of them (no action required).
Fell Glare. One creature within 60 feet that can see your steed must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be Frightened until the end of your next turn.
Unseelie Step. You and your steed teleport to an unoccupied space of your choice up to 60 feet away.
Healing Seat. You and your steed both regain 2d8 Hit Points.
Level 10: Endbound
Your Omen Beast confers two more benefits while active, as detailed below.
Flight. Your Omen Beast gains a Fly Speed equal to its Speed.
Terminal Aura. Creatures of your choice within 5 feet of your Omen Beast cannot regain Hit Points.
Level 14: Apocalyptic Menagerie
The maximum Challenge Rating of the known forms that you can assume with Wild Shape and conjure with Omen Beast equals your Druid level divided by 3 (round down).
