Monks of the Way of Channeled Rage are masters of their emotion, They can control and level their emotions with ease. And when it comes to rage, anger, hatred and or malice? They channel such raw, powerful and consuming emotions into their combat. Unleashing such emotions in channeled burst.

Directed Hatred

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, while you are in combat you can choose to channel your hatred, anger, rage and or malice into your combat: when active everything below applies.

Action. Activating this requires your bonus action to do.

Mark of Hatred. When entering Directed Hatred, you can pick one enemy to direct your hatred towards. You can only make attacks against this enemy until Directed Hatred ends. After directed hatred ends, it cannot be set on the same person until you long rest.

Malice. Whenever you make an unarmed attack or an attack with a monk weapon and said attack deals damage. Gain 1 point of Malice, stacking up to a maximum of 5. You can only gain up to a maximum of 3 stacks of Malice a turn, Look at chart below for what these stacks do

  • 1 Stack At one stack you deal an extra 2 force damage for one attack, once a turn.
  • 2 Stack, You can reduce the damage done to you by the person who've you used Mark of Hatred on by 1d6. You can only do this once until the end of your next turn.
  • 3 Stack If you are knocked unconscious by the person with Mark of Hatred, If you have 3 stacks of Malice. You instead are set to 1 HP. This effect only happens once per combat.
  • 4 Stack Your first attack with an unarmed attack or a monk weapon has advantage, this only happens once a turn.
  • 5 Stack You can make 1 more unarmed attack once every turn.

Malice Unleashed. Once you reach 5 stacks of malice. You can expend all stacks of Malice into a single strike. On a hit, you deal 1d10 + Your WIS modifier + your Dexterity modifier + your monk level. After being hit, they must make a DC 8 + your monk level wisdom saving throw, or they are frightened of you 2 turns. After doing this, Directed hatred ends

Duration. Directed Hatred ends if 1 of the following things happens.

  • The person with Mark of Hatred is rendered unconscious and or dead
  • You choose to end it, which requires your full action to do.
  • You are knocked unconscious
  • Malice unleashed is used
  • You attack someone who isn't your target, purposefully and or willfully

You can use directed hatred up to a number of times up to your proficiency bonus. The charges reset after a long rest

Controlled emotions

Your monk training enables you to control your own emotions, making you hard to read and even harder to be swayed against your own judgment. Due to this, gain immunity to be charmed and any insight or intimidation check against you is made with disadvantage. 

Spiting Hatred

Your rage grows more intense the more you can suppress and channel it. Gain the following benefits for when Directed Hatred is active.

  • Every attack done with an unarmed attack or a monk weapon whilst Directed Hatred is active, deals an additional damage dice equal to the one used to make the attack in psychic damage. This effect can be used up to a maximum of 2 times a turn.
  • Every attack done with an unarmed attack or a monk weapon heals you 1d6 + your proficiency bonus. This effect only happens once a turn.
  • You are immune to being frightened.

Temperance Incarnation

You've achieved perfect control of your emotions. You are the embodiment of what it means to be a tempered person. Gain the following

Mind of Steel Your control of emotions steels your mind, gain resistance to psychic damage and immunity to being frightened.

Overwhelming Wrath You can now channel all your rage into one state. Expend half of your Directed Hatred charges to activate this + 3 Focus points. Once active, gain the following benefits

  • You can now use your bonus action to change the target of Mark of hatred.
  • You can now stack Malice up to 10. For Every additional stack, of Malice past 5, you deal an extra 2 force damage for every attack.
  • Malice Unleashed now deals an additional 1d6 damage for every stack of Malice past 5.
  • After you reach 10 stacks of Malice, for every turn after that one, you gain 1d4 + your CON modifier + your DEX Modifier HP at the end of your turn.
