Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Those who walk the Path of the Ancestral Wolf are bound to an ancient lineage of primal spirits, hunters who ran beneath moonlight long before the rise of cities and crowns. These barbarians do not rage alone; when their fury is unleashed, the echoes of their ancestors answer, manifesting as spectral wolves that circle the battlefield, snapping at foes and shielding allies through instinctive, supernatural coordination.

Ancestral Wolves are protectors first and predators second. They fight as the alpha of an unseen pack, drawing the enemy’s attention while guiding companions to strike as one. Their strength lies not in reckless fury, but in discipline born of survival—knowing when to press the attack, when to defend the wounded, and when to stand their ground no matter the odds.

Yet this power is not without its curse. Silver disrupts the spiritual bond between barbarian and ancestor, searing the spectral connection and stripping away their unnatural resilience. Against such weapons, the Ancestral Wolf is reminded that even the strongest pack has its weaknesses, and that primal magic demands balance as much as ferocity.

Level 3: Ancestral Wolf's Mark

When you choose this path at 3rd level, ancestral wolf spirits emerge when you rage.

While you are raging, the first creature you hit on each of your turns is marked by spectral wolves until the start of your next turn. While marked:

The target has disadvantage on attack rolls against creatures other than you.

If the target deals damage to a creature other than you, that creature has resistance to the damage dealt.

Your ancestral bond sharpens your senses and tracking ability. Additionally

You gain advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks.

You have advantage on (Perception) checks that rely on smell or hearing.

You Gain Perception and Survival

You have Darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. If you already have Darkvision it increases by 30ft

Silver Vulnerability

Your bond with ancestral wolf spirits makes you vulnerable to silver.

  • You lose resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from silvered weapons while raging.

  • Additionally, when you take damage from a silvered weapon, you cannot reduce that damage in any way (including resistance or features such as Relentless Rage).

Spirit of the Pack

Your ancestors guide you in fighting as part of the pack.

While you are raging, if at least one of your allies is within 5 feet of a creature you hit with a melee weapon attack, you deal extra damage equal to +2 to that attack

Spirit Howl

You can call your ancestors to rally the pack.

As a bonus action while raging, you unleash a spectral howl. Choose up to three creatures of your choice within 30 feet that can hear you. Until the start of your next turn:

  • Chosen creatures gain temporary hit points equal to your barbarian level.

  • They also have advantage on their next attack roll.

You can use this feature once per long rest, or twice per long rest starting at 14th level.

Alpha of the Ancestors

Your ancestral spirits fully recognize you as the pack’s leader.

While raging:

When a creature marked by your Ancestral Wolf’s Mark hits an ally, you can use your reaction to move up to half your speed toward that creature and make one melee weapon attack.

If that attack hits, it deals extra damage equal to your Rage Damage bonus.

You have an additional use of your Spirit Howl
