Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Trained to serve unseen, Maids specialize in discretion, observation, and quiet efficiency within noble households. Their work grants them unrestricted access to private spaces, daily routines, and moments of unguarded vulnerability, allowing them to notice details others overlook.

Over time, a Maid develops an intuitive understanding of power, hierarchy, and human behavior. She learns which doors remain unlocked, which servants talk too freely, and which masters hide the most behind polite smiles. This awareness allows her to anticipate danger, gather secrets, and act with precision when necessary.

While many Maids remain loyal to the families they serve, others find that proximity to wealth and power exposes corruption they cannot ignore. When that loyalty breaks, a Maid becomes a quiet threat—capable of turning trust, access, and knowledge into weapons.

Clean

You are practiced in maintaining order and cleanliness under pressure. You gain proficiency in one set of artisan’s tools associated with cleaning or upkeep (such as cleaner’s supplies or cook’s utensils). In addition, you have advantage on ability checks made to clean, organize, repair minor wear, or remove evidence of recent activity within an interior space.

Keys, Closets, and Corridors

You gain proficiency with thieves’ tools, or one set of artisan’s tools if you already have it, and proficiency in Investigation. When making an Intelligence (Investigation) check to locate hidden doors, secret compartments, keys, ledgers, or valuables within a residence, you treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.

Swift Hand

You gain proficiency with improvised weapons, and improvised weapons you wield deal 1d6 damage instead of 1d4. Additionally, you have advantage on Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) checks made to palm, plant, or retrieve a small object from a distracted creature.

Level 3: Housestaff Invisibility

You have mastered the art of being overlooked. While you are in a mansion, estate, manor, or similarly staffed residence, you gain proficiency in Deception or Persuasion (your choice). If you already have proficiency, you instead gain expertise in that skill.

In addition, you have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide or move quietly in these environments, provided you are not wearing medium or heavy armor.

Tending Hands

You are skilled at quietly caring for others without drawing attention. As an action, you can tend to a creature within 5 feet, allowing it to immediately spend one Hit Die and regain hit points equal to the roll plus your Dexterity modifier.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Knows Every Exit

While within a mansion, estate, manor, or similarly structured residence, you cannot be surprised. In addition, when you take damage from a creature you can see, you can use your reaction to move up to half your movement speed without provoking opportunity attacks. You must end this movement in an area that provides cover, concealment, or a narrow passage if one is available.

Leave No Trace

When you finish a short or long rest within a mansion, estate, manor, or similarly structured residence, you and up to a number of creatures equal to your proficiency bonus gain advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks for the next hour. During this time, creatures affected by this feature also have advantage on ability checks made to conceal evidence of their presence or activities.

Additionally, once per long rest, when you would be reduced to 0 hit points within such a residence, you can instead drop to 1 hit point and immediately move up to half your movement speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
