Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of Dance may not be as musical as most other bards, but they more than make up for it in their mastery of motion and dance.

This subclass is a Quixotic-Dragon production.

In order to help us improve it, please take a moment to rate it and comment your answers to the following questions:

  • Is this subclass unique enough to be justified as its own thing?
  • Is there anything about this subclass that doesn't fit the balance established by Wizards of the Coast?
    • If so, what?
  • Is there any terminology or phrasing that made this subclass confusing or difficult to understand?
  • Are there any changes you would make in order to make the subclass more fun or easier to play?
  • Are there any other notes or improvements you would make to this class that were not mentioned in these questions?

Thank you for taking part in our creative process! We hope to have a refined version available soon!

Dancer's Grace

Starting at 3rd level, you can move through an enemy's space without provoking opportunity attacks, and such movement is not difficult terrain for you.

Dancer's Guile

Starting at 3rd level, when you enter an enemy's square, you can attempt a Performance check contested by the target's Passive Perception. On a successful check when you leave their space, you can make an opportunity attack on them.

Light-Footed

Starting at 6th level, you can nimbly dodge out of the way of certain area effects. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw and only half damage if you fail.

Rose Petal Dance

Starting at 14th level, you learn the mirror image spell. This spell does not count toward the bard spells you can know. Once per short rest, you can cast this spell and enhance it with a
Bardic Inspiration die. When you do so, every time you use Dancer's Guile while the enhanced spell is active, your existing duplicates can also make opportunity attacks. Otherwise the spell acts as normal.
