Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of the Card Performer probably are found at the center of a crowd in a tavern, showing of their skills with a deck, or maybe you see them late at night, with a bunch of shifty people in a not so legal match of poker. These bards are always playing with their hands. They could be nimbly shuffling a deck, doing a little magic trick, or even hurling them at high speed against that bastard who could not keep his mouth shut during their show. Using their naturally agile fingers and a little magic, they can create the most amazing shows with flourishes, slides and the oh so unexpected "Is that your card?" one-liner. And the arcane explosions are also pretty neat as well.

So, even though they are the life of a party, you probably should think twice before telling a bard of this college that cards tricks are for kids or that you "saw what they did".

Bonus Proficiencies

3rd-level College of the Card Performer feature

You gain proficiency with the Sleight of Hands skill and with the Playing Card Set. If you already have proficiency in one or both of those, you gain proficiency in another skill and/or gaming set of your choice. Your deck of playing cards can be used as a spell casting focus.

Silver Tongue Performer

3rd-level College of the Card Performer feature

You are a master at saying the right thing at the right time. When you make a Charisma (Deception) or a Dexerity (Sleight of Hand) check, you can use a Bardic Inspiration Die to treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.

Arcane Infused Deck

3rd-level College of the Card Performer feature

You can expend one of your bardic inspiration to draw a hand of cards equal to the number rolled on your bardic inspiration. You can infuse each card with an effect listed below based on the Pip, Face, or Suit of your choice (You may only choose one). You may then choose to throw a card as if making a ranged attack with a range of 60ft/100ft

2-10: Deal damage equal to the number on the card

Jack: Deal damage equal to your Charisma Modifier. The target has disadvantage on its next attack.

Queen: Deal damage equal to your Charisma Modifier. The target has disadvantage on its next saving throw.

King: Deal damage equal to your Charisma Modifier. Regain a spell slot of level 3 or lower.

Ace: Deal damage equal to your Charisma Modifier, and immediately draw a random card from your deck and throw it at the same target

Hearts♡: Whoever is hit by this card gains 1d8+2 hp.

Diamonds◇: You can throw a card to an unoccupied space and teleport to it as a bonus action.

Clubs♧: Each creature in a 15-foot-radius sphere centered on that point must make a Dexterity saving throw. A target takes 3d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Spades♤: Whoever is hit by this card must succeed on a strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Fast Hands

6th-level College of the Card Performer feature

Your hands have now become faster than the eye. The enemy can't keep up with where your cards are going. When you throw a card you can throw a second card in the same turn.

Actions Speak Louder than Words

6th-level College of the Card Performer feature

You have gained the ability to make your speech intelligible to any creature through body language and physical hints. As an action, choose one or more creatures within 60 feet of you, up to a number equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of one creature). The chosen creatures can magically understand you, regardless of the language you speak, for 1 hour.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot to use it again.

Lucky Ace up the Sleeve

14th-level College of the Card Performer feature

When you use a Bardic Inspiration Die to draw cards to your hand, the minimum you can draw is four. You can then choose to discard those cards in order to draw new cards without using another Bardic Inspiration Die. You may only use this feature once per short rest.

Additionally, if your attack with a card misses, you may choose to have that card appear in your sleeve to be used again. You may use this feature equal to your Charisma Modifier (minimum of one) time(s) per long rest.
