Base Class: Bard
Bards of the College of Wayfinding believe the world is to be crossed, not contained. Their songs are work chants, travel hymns, directions, and shanties that turn fear into forward motion. Where tyrants bind, Wayfinders open paths.
Wayfinder’s Lore
When you join the College of Lore at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Survival and Cartographer’s Tools. If you already have either, you instead gain expertise.
Additionally:
- You can always determine true north and your approximate location while outdoors.
- Difficult terrain caused by natural, non-magic environments (mud, ice, sand, undergrowth) costs you no extra movement.
Break the Chain
Your Bardic Inspiration carries the power of release.
When a creature expends your Bardic Inspiration die, it can choose one of the following effects:
- End one non-magical condition affecting it (grappled, restrained, frightened, or prone).
- Immediately move up to half its speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
A creature can benefit from only one of these effects per Inspiration die.
Uncharted Passage
You can open routes where none exist.
As an action, you may expend a Bardic Inspiration die to:
- Grant yourself and a number of creatures equal to your Charisma modifier the ability to move through non-magical obstacles (crowds, undergrowth, rubble, tight spaces) as if they were difficult terrain for 1 minute.
- During this time, affected creatures have advantage on checks to escape bonds or confinement.
This does not allow passage through solid stone or magically sealed barriers - but doors can be opened, knots loosen, and paths appear.
Song of the Open Horizon
Your music reminds others that the world is bigger than their bonds.
When you roll initiative, you and allies who can hear you gain:
- Temporary hit points equal to your Bard level
- Advantage on the first saving throw they make against being restrained, paralyzed, or frightened
