Base Class: Bard
Bards of the College of Rhymes take their musical talents to the next level, honing their craft to perfection. Admiring the elegance of language, they learn to weave words in a constant, self-driving flow. To these Bards, music is fluid and ever-changing and this is reflected in their spellcasting.
Being popular performers, bards of this college almost always adopt stage names to personify their talents. While often successful among poets or commoners, their more liberal style of music is frowned upon by more classical bards.
Natural Rhythm
When you join the College of Rhymes at 3rd level, you gain the following benefits:
- You cannot be slowed.
- You have advantage on saving throws against effects which would stun you.
Spit Fire
Starting at 3rd level, you transfer the explosive force of your music into your magic. Once per round, when you deal damage with a spell of 1st level or higher, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to deal fire damage to one creature who took damage from the spell. The extra damage equals the number you roll on the Bardic Inspiration die.
Effortless Flow
At 6th level, your spellcasting emulates your music as one spell effortlessly flows into the next. Immediately after you cast a Bard spell of 1st level or higher, you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to cast a Bard cantrip of the same spell school as a bonus action. The chosen cantrip must have a casting time of one action.
Rapid Rebuttle
At 14th level, you wield your words faster than any blade. When a creature misses you with an attack, you can use your reaction to cast one Bard cantrip.
