Claim for Capture
Starting at 3rd level, whenever you cast a spell or make an attack, you may choose for all of the damage dealt by that spell or attack to be treated as non-lethal damage.
Additional Proficincies
When you first select this subclass at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Healer's Kits and Surgeon's tools, if you do not already have those proficiencies. Additionally, you become proficient in the Medicine skill. If you were already proficient in that skill, your proficiency bonus is doubled when making any checks with the medicine skill.
Channel Divinity
You gain the following Channel Divinity options. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how Channel Divinity works.
Emergency Surgical Intervention: As an action, you present your holy symbol and perform an emergency surgery on a creature within 5ft of you that is currently at 0hp (excluding undead and constructs). That creature immediately regains hit points equal to 10 times your proficiency bonus and can then use its reaction to stand up (if it is prone) and make one weapon attack. That creature must then make a constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or gain 2 levels of exhaustion.
Surgical Strike: When you hit a creature with an attack, you can expend a use of your channel divinity to turn that hit into a critical hit. You can do so only against creatures with organs or similar vital points to strike - creatures like most undead and constructs are not affected.
Bountiful Harvest
You can harvest the organs of certain creatures for later use while adventuring. You can spend an amount of time to harvest a set of organs from a living creature that is currently at 0hp and unconscious. Doing so kills the creature, preventing you from harvesting further organs.
Organs can generally be found in the following qualities: Poor, Average, Good, Exotic, and Apotheotic. When harvesting organs, the DC of harvesting the organs, number of Medicine checks required to harvest the organs, and time it takes to harvest is dependent on the quality of organs being harvested. When harvesting organs, you make a number of checks of the DC for that quality of organ, with each failed check decreasing the organ's quality by 1 step (Good to Average, for example). If you fail a harvesting check for Poor quality organs, the organs are irrecoverably destroyed.
Quality DC Checks Required Time to Harvest
Poor 14 2 1 minute
Average 18 2 5 minutes
Good 18 3 15 minutes
Exotic 22 3 1 hour
Apotheotic 25 3 4 hours
An organ can be stored for 24 hours. A casting of Gentle Repose can be used to extend the duration that an organ can be kept for, although when used in this way it extends an organ's longevity by 1 day instead of 10. As an action, you can consume an organ or apply it to another creature - through a transplant, consumption, a ritual, or some other magical method - and transfer its bonuses to that creature. Keep track of how many organs are used on a creature - each time an organ is used on a creature before a long rest after the first one used, that creature must succeed on a constitution saving throw (DC 10 + 5 for each additional organ consumed after the second) or gain a level of exhaustion. When an organ type has a non-instantaneous effect, eating multiple organs of that type does not stack their effects - take the effect of the best organ of that type used.
Organs provide benefits based on the type of creature they were extracted from and their quality. Rules for organs harvested from Constructs, Undead, Plants, and Oozes will not be listed here, as they do not typically have organs. The benefits provided are as follows:
- When consuming organs from a humanoid or beast, a creature regains a certain number of hit points based on the quality of the organ consumed: 3 hit points for poor, 8 for average, 15 for good, 28 for exotic, and 50 for apotheotic.
- When consuming organs from a giant, a creature gains the might of a giant, granting it a bonus to all damage rolls made with weapons for the next minute based on the quality of the organ consumed: +1 damage for poor, +2 damage for average, +3 damage for good, +4 damage for exotic, and +6 damage for apotheotic. Exotic and Apotheotic organs also grant a +1 bonus to hit with weapon attacks for the same duration.
- When consuming organs from a dragon, a creature grows defensive scales akin to those of a dragon, granting them a +2 bonus to AC for a duration dependent on the quality of the organ consumed: 2 rounds for poor, 1 minute for average, 10 minutes for good, 1 hour for exotic, and 8 hours for apotheotic.
- When consuming organs from a monstrosity, your speed is modified depending on the quality of the organ consumed, with the modification lasting 1 hour: +10ft for poor and average, and +20ft for good, exotic, and apotheotic. Consuming average or better organs grants a swim speed equal to their walking speed for the duration, consuming exotic or better grants a climb speed equal to their walking speed for the duration, and consuming apotheotic grants a fly speed equal to their walking speed for the duration.
- When consuming organs from an elemental, you gain resistance to one of the following damage types: acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, thunder. The duration of the resistance is dependent on the quality of the organ consumed: 2 rounds for poor, 1 minute for average, 10 minutes for good, 1 hour for exotic, and 8 hours for apotheotic.
- When consuming organs from an aberration, you immediately teleport to a location you can see. The maximum distance you can teleport is dependent on the quality of the organ consumed: 10ft for poor, 30ft for average, 60ft for good, 300ft for exotic, and 5 miles for apotheotic. Consuming the exotic option allows you to bring up to one creature within 5ft of you to your destination, while the apotheotic option allows you to bring up to 8 creatures within 5ft of you when teleporting.
- When consuming organs from a fiend, you gain a number of temporary hit points based on the quality of the organs consumed: 4 hit points for poor, 10 for average, 18 for good, 32 for exotic, and 60 for apotheotic.
- When consuming organs from a fey, you can immediately cast a spell. You can cast the spell listed for the quality of organ consumed or any spells for a lower listed quality. The DC for said spell is equal to 10 plus the consumer's charisma modifier plus the consumer's proficiency bonus. Poor: friends. Average: Charm person. Good: Charm monster. Exotic: Dominate Person. Apotheotic: Dominate Monster.
Disemboweling Smite
Whenever you use Divine Smite (not Improved Divine smite) on a creature or score a critical hit on a creature, that creature must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of your next turn.
Whenever you make an attack against an Incapacitated creature, an unmodified hit roll of 18-20 scores a critical hit.
Enlightened of the Body
Starting at level 20, you finally understand what you have been working toward - the beauty of your body and others', and the beauty in the way it can be cleaved apart, its vital organs extracted... As a bonus action, you can enter a state of perfect understanding, gaining the following benefits for 1 minute:
- Critical Hits cannot be scored against you
- Whenever you score a critical hit against a creature, that attack deals triple as many damage dice to that creature, instead of twice as many
- Whenever you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with a weapon attack, you regain 20 hit points and can immediately make an additional weapon attack
Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a 5th level spell slot to do so.
