Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

With every spell they shatter and every caster they fell, Path of the Mage Slayer embodies the primal defiance of the natural world, proving that no enchantment, no matter how potent, can withstand the raw force of unyielding will. To face a Mage Slayer is to watch your carefully woven magic unravel under the weight of their wrath.

Spelltracker

3rd level feature

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you are fueled by a deep hatred for the arcane. With an understanding of magic and an uncanny ability to sense its presence mid-battle, you gain the following abilities:

Know Your Enemy: You gain Proficiency in the Arcana skill. If you were already proficient, your proficiency in it is doubled.

Arcane Sensor: While raging, you are under the effects of the Detect Magic spell.

Mage Slayer's Fury

3rd level feature

At 3rd level, your attacks carry raw force. While you’re raging, the first creature you hit on each of your turns with a weapon attack takes extra force damage equal to 1d6 + half your Barbarian level. If the creature is a spellcaster, they take an additional 1d6 force damage.

Weave Eater

6th level feature

At 6th level, you’ve learned how to siphon the arcane of spells to empower yourself. As a reaction to a spell being cast within 60 feet of you, you can make a constitution check, with a DC equal to 10 + the level of the slot used in the spell’s casting (default spell level if innate). If the slot’s level is equal or lower than your barbarian rage damage bonus, the check automatically succeeds. On a success, the spell fails and you gain temporary hit points equal to three times the level of the spell.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier and regain all uses on a long rest.

Additionally, while raging, you have resistance to damage dealt by spells.

Concentration Breaker

10th level feature

Your attacks make it increasingly difficult for spellcasters to hold their focus. At 10th level, while raging, the DC for concentration checks a creature makes against damage you deal is no longer halved past 20 damage.

Severance

10th level feature

At 10th level, once per turn, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack you can choose to sever its connection to the weave. You make a Constitution check contested by the target’s spellcasting ability check. If you succeed, the target has a number of spells effecting them equal to your Constitution modifier dispelled, starting from the lowest level spell and working upwards. The same creature can only be affected by this once per minute.

You may use this ability a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier and regain all uses on a long rest.

Defy the Weave

14th level feature

At 14th level, your connection to the physical world strengthens your defenses. You gain a bonus to all spell saving throws equal to your Constitution modifier (with a minimum bonus of +1).
